Doha: Sheikh Salman bin Jabr Al-Thani, head of the astronomy section of Qatar Center for Astronomy and Space Sciences, commented on the announcement of the Meteorological Department, recording the lowest perceptible temperature in Dukhan and Umm Bab, which reached 2°C.
“What is happening in Qatar and the Gulf concerning cold weather is not something new or strange, and is not the result of climate change, as some say.” The head of the Qatar Center for Astronomy and Space Sciences tweeted.
Sheikh Salman bin Jabr also tweeted: “Peace be upon you, and may God bless you with good times. The cold weather that we are witnessing in #Qatar and the #Arabian_Gulf is not something new to the region, nor is it something strange or related to climate change, as some may say. Rather, it is the nature of the atmosphere in the region, as we are in #AlNaayem and #Mirba’aniyya, so there is no need to exaggerate things.”

علّق الشيخ سلمان بن جبر آل ثاني رئيس مركز قطر لعلوم الفضاء والفلك على إعلان إدارة الأرصاد الجوية، تسجيل أقل درجة حرارة محسوسة في “دخان” و”أم باب” والتي وصلت إلى ٢°مئوية.
وقال رئيس مركز قطر لعلوم الفضاء والفلك في تغريدة عبر “تويتر”، إن ما يحدث في قطر والخليج من أجواء باردة ليس بالشيء الحديث أو الغريب، وليس نتاج تغير مناخي كما يرى البعض.
وكتب الشيخ سلمان بن جبر في تغريدته: السلام عليكم والله يمسيكم بالخير، الاجواء الباردة التي نشاهدها في #قطر و #الخليج_العربي ليست بالشيء الحديث على المنطقة ولا بالشيء الغريب أو تغير مناخي كما يتداول البعض. وإنما هو طبيعة الجو في المنطقة، حيث أننا في طالع #النعايم و #المربعانية لذلك لا داعي لتهويل الأمور”.
