After the lemon and ginger bouquets fiasco, orange is the new trend

Continuing the Coronavirus era’s series of unusual trends, pictures of orange cakes and orange gift bouquets spread all over social media, after the spread of the lemon and ginger bouquets trend, which became an alternate for flowers.

Instagram merchants posted pictures of cakes and gift packages that included oranges and vitamins to promote the purchase of these goods, given that it contributes in boosting body’s immunity to confront the Coronavirus and seasonal influenza.

The price of these packages reached about 300 QR, and the markets have seen a large demand from consumers to buy lemon, fresh ginger and other goods and products that contribute to boosting and strengthening immunity, which has led to the scarcity of some of these goods and a prices hike in markets and pharmacies as well, at a time when the country is witnessing a high number of infections.

For their part, some of the social media users called on the competent authorities to intensify supervision to control the markets, and to protect consumers from the greed and exploitation of traders who take advantage of the epidemic to raise prices and monopolize goods.

في استمرار للظواهر الغريبة في زمن الكورونا غزت صور لقوالب كيك وباقات هدايا البرتقال مواقع التواصل الاجتماعي ، وذلك بعد انتشار ظاهرة باقات الليمون والزنجبيل والتي أصبحت موضة بديلة لباقات الورود.

وعمل تجار الانسجرام على نشر صور لقوالب كيك وباقات هدايا تضمن برتقالا وفيتامينات للترويج لشراء هذه السلع، نظرا لكونها تساهم في رفع مناعة الجسم لمواجهة فيروس كورونا والأنفلونزا الموسمية.

هذا ووصل سعر هذه المنتجات إلى 300 ريالا قطريا. وكانت الأسواق قد شهدت إقبالا كبيرا من المستهلكين على شراء الليمون والزنجبيل الطازج وغيرها من السلع والمنتجات التي تساهم في رفع وتقوية المناعة، للوقاية من الإصابة بفيروس كورونا، مما أدى إلى شح بعض هذه السلع وارتفاعها أسعارها في الأسواق والصيدليات، وذلك في الوقت الذي تشهد فيه البلاد ارتفاع عدد الإصابات بالفيروس.

من جهتهم طالب بعض رواد مواقع التواصل الجهات المختصة بضرورة تكثيف الرقابة لضبط الأسواق، وحماية المستهلكين من جشع واستغلال التجار الذي يستغلون الوباء لرفع الأسعار واحتكار السلع.
