Nasser Al Khelaifi Tops the “Ten Influencers 2022” List

Paris: Nasser Ghanem Al Khelaifi, President of Paris Saint-Germain and Chairman of the European Club Association (ECA), has been named the most influential figure in the global sports industry in the year ahead by London-based media company SportsPro.

Al Khelaifi tops the list of SportsPros prestigious “Ten Influencers 2022” annual list, for his efforts towards driving and shaping the global sports agenda in the year ahead, positioned alongside sports leaders such as President and Chief Executive of Discovery, David Zaslav.

Al Khelaifi was among those to rally against the short-lived formation of a breakaway super league, a stance that later saw him elevated to the role of chairman at the European Club Association (ECA). That job, coupled with his position on the UEFA executive committee, will no doubt give Al Khelaifi a significant say in the shape of European soccer moving forward a task likely to involve protecting PSGs interests from those of the remaining rebel super league clubs.

وقد حصل الخليفي على هذه المكانة في القائمة بفضل جهوده في صياغة أجندة الرياضة العالمية للعام المقبل، واحتل هذه المرتبة إلى جانب كبار قادة الرياضة مثل ديفيد زاسلاف، الرئيس والمدير التنفيذي لشبكة /Discovery/.

وكان السيد الخليفي من بين من تصدوا لتأسيس دوري السوبر الأوروبي والذي أطلقه/12/ ناديا اوروبيا لمنافسة مسابقة دوري الابطال، وهو الموقف الذي أوصله إلى منصب رئيس رابطة الأندية الأوروبية، ومن خلال منصبه هذا إضافة إلى منصبه في اللجنة التنفيذية للاتحاد الأوروبي لكرة القدم (UEFA)، سيكون له دون أدنى شك دور حاسم في صياغة شكل كرة القدم الأوروبية في المستقبل، وهي المهمة التي من المرجح أن تتضمن حماية مصالح نادي باريس سان جيرمان من النوادي المتبقية في الدوري السوبر والمؤيدة له، بجانب وجود العديد من القضايا التي تستوجب معالجتها.
