QF Celebrates World Arabic Language Day in Malaysia

Kuala Lumpur: Under the title “Arabic Language and Civilizational Communication in Malaysia”, Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development celebrated World Arabic Language Day, which falls on Dec.18 every year, in partnership with the Islamic Science University of Malaysia and the participation of a group of experts, academics and poets and Arabic language specialist, university students and those interested in the Malaysian society.
The event came intending to consolidate the status of the Arabic language, identity, and culture globally, highlighting the role of the Arabic language in promoting cultural and heritage affiliation in society, the need to preserve it and ensure that it keeps pace with modernity, development and the requirements of the times, and to devote its use in the technological, research, scientific, and cultural fields and as a language of communication.
The event program included a series of lectures, workshops, and discussion sessions on various topics such as learning the Arabic language and modern technologies, the challenges of learning Arabic for non-native speakers in Malaysia, and the use of modern technologies in teaching and learning Arabic. The event also organized an Arabic debate between two teams from Malaysian universities.
Qatar Foundation has been reviving and celebrating the World Arabic Language Day by participating in distinguished activities at the local and global levels, which reflects the Foundation’s keenness to consolidate the status of the Arabic language and enhance its spread, as the language of the Noble Quran and the language of hundreds of millions of individuals around the world.
The world celebrates World Arabic Language Day on Dec. 18 every year. This date was chosen specifically because it is the day on which the United Nations General Assembly in 1973 took its historic decision to make Arabic language the 6th official language in the organization.

كوالالمبور: تحت عنوان “اللغة العربية والتواصل الحضاري في ماليزيا” احتفلت مؤسسة قطر للتربية والعلوم وتنمية المجتمع، باليوم العالمي للغة العربية الذي يصادف 18 ديسمبر من كل عام، وذلك بالشراكة مع جامعة العلوم الإسلامية الماليزية وبمشاركة كوكبة من الخبراء والأكاديميين والشعراء وأخصائي اللغة العربية وطلاب الجامعة والمهتمين في المجتمع الماليزي.
وجاءت الفعالية بهدف ترسيخ مكانة اللغة والهوية والثقافة العربية عالميًا، وتسليط الضوء على دور اللغة العربية في تعزيز الانتماء الثقافي والتراثي في المجتمع، وضرورة الحفاظ عليها وضمان مواكبتها للحداثة والتطوّر ومتطلبات العصر، وتكريس استخدامها في المجالات التكنولوجية والبحثيّة والعلميّة والثقافية وكلغة تخاطب.
وتضمن برنامج الفعالية سلسلة من المحاضرات وورش العمل والجلسات النقاشية حول موضوعات مختلفة مثل تعلّم اللغة العربية والتقنيات الحديثة، وتحديّات تعلّم اللغة العربية للناطقين بغيرها بماليزيا، واستخدام التقنيات الحديثة في تعليم اللغة العربية وتعلمها، إلى جانب تنظيم مناظرة باللغة العربية بين فريقين من الجامعات الماليزية.
وقد دأبت مؤسسة قطر على إحياء اليوم العالمي للغة العربية والاحتفاء به من خلال المشاركة بفعاليات متميزة على المستوى المحلي والعالمي، مما يُجسّد حرص المؤسسة على ترسيخ المكانة التي تتمتع بها اللغة العربية وتعزيز انتشارها، باعتبارها لغة القرآن الكريم ولغة مئات الملايين من الأفراد حول العالم.
جدير بالذكر أن العالم يحتفل باليوم العالمي للغة العربية في الثامن عشر من ديسمبر من كل عام، وقد وقع الاختيار على هذا التاريخ بالتحديد للاحتفاء باللغة العربية لأنه اليوم الذي اتخذت فيه الجمعية العامة للأمم المتحدة في عام 1973 قرارها التاريخي بأن تكون اللغة العربية لغة رسمية سادسة في المنظمة.
