Moscow: The Russian Foreign Ministry announced yesterday the expulsion of two German diplomats, declaring them as ‘persona non grata’.
The ministry said, in a statement, that it had summoned the German ambassador in Moscow and informed him of its decision to consider two diplomatic employees at the embassy in Russia “persona non grata”, explaining that the decision came in response to a similar decision previously taken by Germany. The statement pointed out that “the Russian side affirmed its total rejection of the baseless and far from reality accusations of the involvement of Russian state institutions in the murder of Georgian Khangoshvili.”
On Wednesday, Germany announced the expulsion of two Russian diplomats, after a local court sentenced a Russian citizen to life in prison for the murder of a Georgian citizen of Chechen origin in the center of Berlin two years ago, declaring that “the crime was commissioned by Russian government parties.” However, the Russian Foreign Ministry criticized the ruling, describing it as politically motivated.

موسكو: أعلنت وزارة الخارجية الروسية، يوم أمس، عن طرد دبلوماسيين ألمانيين اثنين، واعتبارهما شخصين غير مرغوب فيهما.
وقالت الوزارة، في بيان، إنها استدعت السفير الألماني في موسكو وأبلغته قرارها باعتبار موظفين دبلوماسيين اثنين في السفارة لدى روسيا “شخصين غير مرغوب فيهما”، موضحة أن القرار جاء ردا على قرار مماثل اتخذته ألمانيا سابقا.
وأشار البيان إلى أن “الجانب الروسي أكد رفضه التام للاتهامات التي لا أساس لها والبعيدة عن الواقع بتورط مؤسسات الدولة الروسية في مقتل الجورجي خانغوشفيلي”.
وكانت ألمانيا قد أعلنت بدورها، يوم /الأربعاء/ الماضي، طرد دبلوماسيين روسيين اثنين، وذلك بعد أن قضت محكمة محلية بسجن مواطن روسي مدى الحياة بتهمة قتل مواطن جورجي ذي أصول شيشانية يدعي جانغوشفيلي وسط برلين قبل عامين، معلنة أن “الجريمة تمت بتكليف من جهات حكومية روسية”، غير أن الخارجية الروسية انتقدت حينها الحكم، ووصفته بأن له دوافع سياسية.
