HH the Amir, Sultan of Oman Visit Qatar Foundation and Qatar National Library

Doha: HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani and HM Sultan Haitham bin Tariq of the sisterly Sultanate of Oman visited Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development (QF).
During the visit, HH the Amir and HM the Sultan were briefed on Qatar Foundation’s history, stages of development and its strategy in the field of education, research and community service, in addition to an overview of the joint cooperation programs between QF and educational institutions in the Sultanate of Oman.
They also toured the edifices of international universities, research centers and academic facilities of the Foundation.
After that, HH the Amir and HM Sultan of Oman visited Qatar National Library, during which they listened to an explanation about the librarys contents from Arab and international sources of knowledge in various sciences, manuscripts, arts, cultures and the history of the region, especially the Heritage Library and the rare manuscripts and old editions it includes that narrate the history of Qatar, the region and the world, in addition to an explanation about the library building, which reflects the library’s vision and message of knowledge.
HH the Amir and HM Sultan of Oman were accompanied by a number of Their Excellencies Ministers.
From the Omani side, they were accompanied by HH Deputy Prime Minister for Defense Affairs Sayyid Shihab bin Tarik Al Said, and Their Excellencies members of the official delegation.

الدوحة: قام حضرة صاحب السمو الشيخ تميم بن حمد آل ثاني أمير البلاد المفدى، وأخوه جلالة السلطان هيثم بن طارق سلطان عمان الشقيقة، بزيارة إلى مؤسسة قطر للتربية والعلوم وتنمية المجتمع.
واستمع سموه وجلالة السلطان خلال الزيارة إلى شرح حول تاريخ المؤسسة ومراحل تطورها واستراتيجيتها في مجال التعليم والبحوث وخدمة المجتمع إضافة إلى لمحة حول برامج التعاون المشتركة بين المؤسسة والمؤسسات التعليمية في سلطنة عمان، كما أخذا جولة اطلعا من خلالها على صروح الجامعات العالمية والمراكز البحثية والمرافق الأكاديمية التابعة للمؤسسة.
عقب ذلك، قام سمو الأمير المفدى وأخوه جلالة سلطان عمان بزيارة إلى مكتبة قطر الوطنية، استمعا خلالها إلى شرح حول محتويات المكتبة من مصادر المعرفة العربية والعالمية في مختلف العلوم والمخطوطات والفنون والثقافات وتاريخ المنطقة لا سيما المكتبة التراثية وما تتضمنه من نوادر المخطوطات والطبعات القديمة التي تسرد تاريخ قطر والمنطقة والعالم، إضافة إلى شرح عن مبنى المكتبة المعبر عن رؤية المكتبة ورسالتها المعرفية.
رافق سموه وجلالة السلطان في الزيارتين عدد من أصحاب السعادة الوزراء.
ومن الجانب العماني صاحب السمو السيد شهاب بن طارق آل سعيد نائب رئيس الوزراء لشؤون الدفاع، وأصحاب المعالي أعضاء الوفد الرسمي المرافق.
