Georgian Corner Opens in Katara

Doha: The Cultural Village Foundation (Katara) inaugurated yesterday the Georgia artistic corner, in the presence of HE Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Georgia Nunu Mitskevich.
Katara General Manager Dr. Khalid bin Ibrahim Al Sulaiti said that Katara is keen to build bridges of communication between cultures and peoples through these artistic corners, which are the fruit of cooperation relations with several embassies in the country, pointing out that Georgia’s artistic corner carries cultural and human dimensions in line with Katara’s vision of art and culture.
For her part, the Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Georgia expressed her happiness to attend the inauguration of the corner for her country in the Katara, indicating the importance of language in Georgian culture and its relationship to identity, and thanked Katara for providing various opportunities for cooperation.
HE Ambassador of Georgia to Qatar Nikoloz Revazishvili said that the Georgian corner is represented by a statue in the form of a tree symbolizing life and immortality, created by the well-known Georgian artist Rezo Khasia. The statue includes 33 letters of the Georgian alphabet with 33 capsules that form the central part of the sculpture, as a symbol of Georgian culture, noting the fruitful cultural cooperation projects with Katara.

الدوحة: دشنت المؤسسة العامة للحي الثقافي /كتارا/ الركن الفني الخاص بجورجيا، وذلك بحضور سعادة السيدة نونو ميتس كيفيتش نائب وزير التعليم والعلوم في جورجيا.
وأوضح الدكتور خالد بن إبراهيم السليطي المدير العام للمؤسسة، أن /كتارا/ حريصة على أن تمدّ جسور التواصل بين الثقافات والشعوب من خلال هذه الأركان الفنية الموزعة على مختلف أرجاء الحي الثقافي والتي تعتبر ثمرة علاقات تعاون مع عدد من السفارات لدى الدولة، مشيرا إلى أن الركن الفني الخاص بجورجيا يحمل أبعاد ثقافية وإنسانية تتلاءم مع رؤية /كتارا/ للفن والثقافة.
ومن ناحيتها، عبَّرت سعادة نائب وزير التعليم والعلوم في جورجيا عن سعادتها بحضور تدشين الركن الفني الخاص ببلادها في الحي الثقافي /كتارا/، مبينة أهمية اللغة في الثقافة الجورجية وفي علاقتها بالهوية، متقدمة بالشكر للمؤسسة على إتاحتها لمختلف فرص التعاون.
من جانبه، أوضح سعادة السيد نيكولوز ريفازيتشفيلي سفير جورجيا لدى الدولة، إنّ الركن الجورجي يتمثل في تمثال على شكل شجرة ترمز إلى الحياة والخلود، وهي من إبداع الفنان الجورجي المعروف ريزو خاسيا، ويحمل التمثال اسم /تبجيل الأبجدية/، الذي يضم 33 حرفاً من الأبجدية الجورجية مع 33 كبسولة على شكل صندوق تشكل الجزء المركزي من المنحوتة، باعتباره رمزاً للثقافة الجورجية بجوهرها وجذورها، منوها بمشاريع التعاون الثقافي المثمر مع المؤسسة العامة للحي الثقافي /كتارا/.
