IPA Qatar Launches Qatar’s Cyber Security Investment Opportunities Report

Doha: The Investment Promotion Agency Qatar (IPA Qatar) highlighted Qatar’s digital economy investment opportunities in the cyber-security landscape.

It did so through launching a joint report titled ‘Securing the Digital Future – Investment Insights and Opportunities’ in collaboration with Microsoft and EY-Parthenon.

The report underlies a comprehensive analysis of the cyber security landscape in Qatar and globally, as well as highlights the importance of cyber security investment for economic growth. It also offers in-depth insights into current and future areas for investment as part of Qatar’s rapidly growing digital ecosystem.

The successful completion of mega projects has led to significant investments in digitization and digital security, creating new opportunities for foreign investors. In parallel, cloud-enabled technologies offered by Microsoft’s Cloud Datacenter Region in Qatar play a crucial role in helping organizations respond to modern cyber threats.

HE CEO of IPA Qatar Sheikh Ali bin Alwaleed Al-Thani commented on this partnership by saying: “Qatar’s progress in cyber security readiness is crucial for the country’s economic growth and the broader region.” “We are proud to build on our partnership with Microsoft and EY-Parthenon to produce this joint publication, which highlights the importance of cyber security investment and the promising investment opportunities available in Qatar’s digital economy,” he added.

These efforts showcase the countrys commitment to innovative and sustainable solutions and will also encourage cross-industry collaboration and foreign investment opportunities.” With digital transformation, the need for enhanced cyber security measures has become increasingly critical as the cost and depth of cyber attacks rise exponentially. Recent high-profile cyber security attacks and the 66 per cent of SMEs globally that experienced cyber attacks in 2021 point to the urgency for organizations to ward off cyber security risks. Amidst these challenges, the global cyber security market is poised for significant growth, with revenues expected to reach USD 376 billion by 2028.

الدوحة: سلطت وكالة ترويج الاستثمار في قطر، الضوء على فرص الاستثمار التي يوفرها اقتصاد قطر الرقمي في قطاع الأمن السيبراني.

جاء ذلك في التقرير الذي أطلقته اليوم بعنوان /تأمين المستقبل الرقمي – رؤى حول الاستثمار والفرص/، وذلك بالتعاون مع شركتي /مايكروسوفت/ و/إرنست آند يونغ بارثينون/.

ويعرض التقرير تحليلا شاملا لوضع الأمن السيبراني في قطر والعالم، ويبرز أهمية الاستثمار في قطاع الأمن السيبراني وما يمكن أن يحققه من فائدة للتنمية الاقتصادية، ويطرح رؤى متعمقة حول مجالات الاستثمار الحالية والمستقبلية في إطار التحول الرقمي السريع الذي تشهده دولة قطر.

ويشير التقرير إلى أن إنجاز المشاريع الضخمة أدى إلى استثمارات كبيرة في الرقمنة والأمن الرقمي، وأوجد فرصا جديدة للمستثمرين الأجانب ، مشيرا إلى أن التكنولوجيا السحابية التي تقدمها منطقة مراكز بيانات مايكروسوفت السحابية في قطر تلعب دورا مهما في دعم المؤسسات بشأن الاستجابة للتهديدات السيبرانية الحديثة.

وقال سعادة الشيخ علي بن الوليد آل ثاني الرئيس التنفيذي لوكالة ترويج الاستثمار في قطر، في تعليق على هذه الشراكة، :”إن التقدم الذي تحرزه دولة قطر بشأن جاهزيتها في مجال الأمن السيبراني هو أمر بالغ الأهمية للنمو الاقتصادي في البلاد والمنطقة بشكل عام. إننا فخورون بتعزيز شراكتنا مع مايكروسوفت وإرنست آند يونغ بارثينون في إصدار هذا التقرير المشترك، الذي يسلط الضوء على أهمية الاستثمار في الأمن السيبراني وفرص الاستثمار الواعدة والمتاحة في الاقتصاد الرقمي لدولة قطر”.

من جهتها، قالت لانا خلف المدير العام لمايكروسوفت قطر : إن البنية التحتية الرقمية المرنة التي توفرها دولة قطر واقتصادها المتنوع المزدهر تقدم بيئة استثمار جاذبة للشركات، مشيرة إلى أنه مع تسريع وتيرة التحول الرقمي، أصبح الأمن السيبراني من أهم أولويات المؤسسات لحماية مهامها الأساسية وضمان استمرارية أعمالها ومرونتها.

وأضافت :”يسلط هذا التقرير الذي تعاونا مع وكالة ترويج الاستثمار وإرنست آند يونغ على تنفيذه، الضوء على الفرص والإمكانات التي توفرها الدولة للابتكار والنمو في قطاع الأمن السيبراني”.

من جانبه، قال ساماي ميشرا الشريك في إرنست آند يونغ بارثينون: “تمتلك قطر واحدة من أسرع الاقتصادات الرقمية نموا في المنطقة، وتستثمر العديد من مؤسسات القطاعين العام والخاص في عمليات تحول رقمية قوية للاستفادة من هذا النمو، إلا أنه من المهم الإشارة إلى أن النمو الرقمي السريع تواكبه مخاطر تتطلب تركيزا كبيرا على تعزيز تدابير الأمن الرقمي”. وأضاف : ” لقد بذلت قطر جهودا كبيرة لتطوير وتنفيذ سياسات شاملة للأمن السيبراني حيث تعكس هذه الجهود التزامها بالحلول المبتكرة والمستدامة، فضلا عن تشجيعها للتعاون بين مختلف القطاعات وتعزيز فرص الاستثمار الأجنبي.” يشار إلى أن الحاجة إلى تدابير الأمن السيبراني المتقدمة، أصبحت أمرا بالغ الأهمية في ظل التحول الرقمي وارتفاع تكلفة الهجمات السيبرانية وازديادها بشكل كبير، إذ تشير هجمات الأمن السيبراني الحديثة رفيعة المستوى وتعرض 66% من الشركات الصغيرة والمتوسطة على مستوى العالم لهجمات سيبرانية في 2021 إلى الضرورة الملحة لدى المؤسسات لمواجهة مخاطر الأمن السيبراني.

ووسط هذه التحديات، فإن سوق الأمن السيبراني العالمية مهيأة لأن تشهد نموا كبيرا، حيث من المتوقع أن تصل إيراداتها إلى 376 مليار دولار بحلول 2028.

وفي إطار التزامها بتعزيز الأمن السيبراني والفضاء الرقمي، أسست دولة قطر منظومة سيبرانية مرنة واكبتها فرص جاذبة للمستثمرين الأجانب، حيث تتيح قطر فرص استثمار كبيرة لشركات الأمن السيبراني من خلال ميزانية تزيد على 1.64 مليار دولار وأعلى نمو في معدل الإنفاق على الأمن السيبراني في الشرق الأوسط.

كما ينصب تركيز الدولة في تطوير بنيتها الرقمية على جذب الشركات والمستثمرين العالميين، وهو ما من شأنه أن يجعل قطر رائدة في مبادرات الأمن السيبراني على مستوى العالم. وتوفر قطر بيئة مواتية للشركات التي تتطلع إلى الاستثمار في سوق الأمن السيبراني من خلال قطاع تكنولوجي مزدهر ومبادرات حكومية داعمة، تستند إلى رؤية قطر الوطنية 2030، واستراتيجية التنمية الوطنية الثانية، والاستراتيجية الوطنية للأمن السيبراني.

وتشرف وكالة ترويج الاستثمار في قطر على أنشطة ترويج الاستثمار تحت العلامة التجارية “Invest Qatar”، وتعمل كمظلة وطنية لجذب الاستثمار الأجنبي المباشر.
