Ministry of Education Launches Updated e-Library System

Doha: The Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MEHE) launched the updated e-library system, following completion of its development, to become an integrated e-library to managing library operations and plays its educational role in line with the Ministry’s objectives.
The Director of Curriculum and Learning Resources Department at MEHE Reema Abukhadija said that e-library system comes within the framework of continuous development and utilization of digital technology to enrich teaching and learning, noting that this system allows beneficiaries to browse e-books, use digital databases, and facilitate the provision of educational videos and films that support the curricula, providing an appropriate environment for self-learning, research, investigation and knowledge increase in curricular topics.
She explained that the e-library system also enables the specialists of the Learning Resources Department to follow up the educational, technical and administrative processes in the learning resource centers in schools, and to extract statistical reports for each school or group of schools according to specific determinants such as stage or gender, as well as providing schools with electronic resources, and following up on their activation.
The electronic library includes a large number of resources, and allows beneficiaries to access 11 global databases available through the Qatar National Library, while its system consists of three main portals: system administration, web page, files and bulletins.

الدوحة: دشنت وزارة التربية والتعليم والتعليم العالي نظام المكتبة الإلكترونية المحدث، بعد اكتمال تطويره، ليصبح مكتبة إلكترونية متكاملة لا تقتصر على إدارة عمليات المكتبة فقط، وإنما تقوم بدورها التعليمي بما يتوافق وأهداف الوزارة.
وقالت السيدة ريما بو خديجة، مديرة إدارة المناهج الدراسية ومصادر التعلم بالوزارة، إن نظام المكتبة الإلكترونية يأتي في إطار التطوير المستمر والاستفادة من التكنولوجيا الرقمية في إثراء التعليم والتعلم.. مشيرة الى أن هذا النظام يتيح للمستفيدين تصفح كتب إلكترونية واستخدام قواعد بيانات رقمية، وتسهيل توفير فيديوهات وأفلام تعليمية مساندة للمناهج الدراسية، بما يوفر بيئة مناسبة لممارسة التعلم الذاتي، والبحث والاستقصاء والاستزادة المعرفية في موضوعات المناهج الدراسية، إلى جانب تمكين المستفيدين من مهارات الوعي المعلوماتي من خلال إمكانية تقييم مصادر التعلم وتوجيه النصح بشأنها.
وأوضحت أن نظام المكتبة الالكترونية يمكن أيضا اختصاصيي قسم مصادر التعلم من متابعة العمليات التعليمية والفنية والإدارية بمراكز مصادر التعلم في المدارس، واستخراج التقارير الإحصائية لكل مدرسة أو لمجموعة مدارس حسب محددات معينة مثل المرحلة أو الجنس، فضلاً عن تزويد المدارس بمصادر إلكترونية، ومتابعة تفعيلها.
يذكر أن المكتبة الإلكترونية تضم عدداً كبيراً من المصادر، وتتيح للمستفيدين الوصول إلى 11 قاعدة بيانات عالمية متاحة عن طريق مكتبة قطر الوطنية، في حين يتكون نظامها من ثلاث بوابات رئيسة هي: إدارة النظام، وصفحة الويب، والملفات والنشرات.
