Energy Sector holds its 19th ‘Annual Qatarization Review Meeting’
«الطاقة» يعقد اجتماعه السنوي الـ «19» للتقطير
The Energy Sector held its ‘19th Annual Qatarization Review Meeting’ recently. The event was held under the patronage of H E Saad bin Sherida Al Kaabi, the Minister of State for Energy Affairs and President & CEO of Qatar Petroleum.
The meeting was attended by senior executives and representatives from the 35 participating companies in the Energy Sector’s Strategic Qatarization Plan, as well as senior executives from Qatar’s education community.
In an address to the meeting, Minister Al Kaabi highlighted the importance of Qatarization in aligning the energy sector with the pillars of the Qatar National Vision 2030, and expressed pride in the accomplishments of Qatari Nationals who are now leading the various components of the energy sector and have truly become its backbone.
His Excellency also recognized the energy sector’s accomplishments in Qatarization and said “Over the last 19 years, we have witnessed almost a three-fold growth in the number of approved establishment positions accompanied by a triple increase of Qataris employed in the sector.”
In his remarks to the meeting, H E Al Kaabi shared his appreciation of the Qatarization program’s efforts and acknowledged the learning and development opportunities offered to Qatari nationals in the sector. “Qataris are the future of the energy sector and they will continue to be at the forefront of our priorities,” he said
H E Al Kaabi concluded his remarks by highlighting the role of technical education in providing the proper skills needed by the sector. He said “We must continue to work closely with the various higher educational and technical institutions to align our requirements and needs with their educational outputs.”
This year’s Annual Qatarization Review Meeting featured a number of presentations highlighting the sector’s progress in implementing Qatari human capital strategies and the efforts to build stronger relationships with the education sector.
At the end of the meeting the Sector’s 11th Annual Qatarization Awards were presented by the Minister of State for Energy Affairs to honour companies who have exhibited Qatarization excellence during 2018.
Recipients of the Qatarization Crystal Awards were Qatar Petrochemical Company (QAPCO) for “Support and Liaison with the Education Sector”; Dolphin Energy Limited for “Supporting Qatarization”; Qatar Gas Transport Company Limited (Nakilat) for “Support for Training and Development”; and, Qatar Shell for “Best Qatarization Progress”.
Annual Qatarization Certificates were also presented to Qatargas for “Support and Liaison with the Education Sector”; Qatar Fertiliser Company (QAFCO) for “Supporting Qatarization”; and Gulf Helicopters Company for “Support for Training and Development”.
ترأس سعادة المهندس سعد بن شريده الكعبي، وزير الدولة لشؤون الطاقة العضو المنتدب والرئيس التنفيذي لـ «قطر للبترول»، الاجتماع السنوي التاسع عشر للتقطير في قطاع الطاقة، الذي عُقد يوم الخميس الماضي. وحضر الاجتماع عدد من كبار المسؤولين التنفيذيين وممثلين عن 35 شركة مشاركة في الخطة الاستراتيجية للتقطير في قطاع الطاقة، إضافة لعدد من كبار المسؤولين في قطاع التعليم.
وفي كلمته في افتتاح الاجتماع، سلّط سعادة المهندس الكعبي الضوء على أهمية التقطير في مواءمة قطاع الطاقة مع ركائز رؤية قطر الوطنية 2030، وعبّر عن اعتزازه بإنجازات القطريين الذين يقودون قطاع النفط في الدولة والذين أصبحوا عموده الفقري.
إنجازات
وأشاد الكعبي بإنجازات قطاع الطاقة في مجال التقطير، وقال: «على مدى الأعوام الـ 19 الماضية، شهدنا نمواً بلغ قرابة الثلاثة أضعاف في عدد مناصب المنشآت المعتمدة تضاعف معها عدد القطريين العاملين في القطاع ثلاث مرات في الفترة نفسها». وقد عبّر سعادته عن تقديره للجهود التي يبذلها البرنامج، ولفرص التعليم والتطوير التي يتم تقديمها للمواطنين العاملين في القطاع، مؤكداً «أن القطريين هم مستقبل قطاع الطاقة وسيبقون محور اهتمامنا وأولى أولوياتنا». واختتم سعادة المهندس الكعبي كلمته بتسليط الضوء على دور التعليم المهني والفني في توفير المهارات المناسبة التي يحتاجها القطاع، وقال: «يجب أن نستمر في التعاون الوثيق مع مختلف مؤسسات التعليم العالي والتقني لمواءمة مخرجاتهم التعليمية مع متطلبات واحتياجات قطاع الطاقة».
وتابع المشاركون في الاجتماع السنوي للتقطير في قطاع الطاقة عدداً من العروض التقديمية حول مختلف أوجه التقدم الذي حققه القطاع في إدارة استراتيجيات رأس المال البشري القطري وجهود بناء علاقات قوية مع قطاع التعليم.
جوائز
وفي ختام الاجتماع، قدّم الكعبي جوائز التقطير السنوية لشركات القطاع التي أظهرت تميزاً في التقطير خلال عام 2018.
وقد فازت بجائزة الكريستال للتقطير شركة قطر للبتروكيماويات (قابكو) لجهودها في الدعم والاتصال مع قطاع التعليم، و»دولفين للطاقة المحدودة» لجهودها في دعم التقطير، وشركة قطر لنقل الغاز المحدودة (ناقلات) لجهودها في دعم التدريب والتطوير، و»شل قطر» لأفضل تقدّم أُحرز في مجال التقطير.
كما تم تقديم شهادات التقطير السنوية إلى كلّ من: «قطرغاز» لجهودها في الدعم والاتصال مع قطاع التعليم، وشركة قطر للأسمدة الكيماوية (قافكو) لدعمها التقطير، وشركة «هليكوبتر الخليج» للدعم الذي قدّمته في مجال التدريب والتطوير.
