No muezzin or imam at Zaid al-Khair Mosque

Doha: Zaid al-Khair Mosque goers in Abu Fontas district complained about the absence of a muezzin or imam, and one of the mosque’s goers told Al-Raya that he noticed that the mosque’s servant is the one who performs the adhan and salat at every prayer, and that the administration of the mosques provides a preacher for the mosque on Friday prayers only to deliver Friday sermons and perform salat.
He pointed out that the Mosque of Zaid al-Khair, which carries the number (MS 386), is one of the old mosques built decades ago and most employees of Kahramaa Foundation are keen to perform prayers there, and workers of companies working in neighboring projects are keen to pray there, in addition to passers-by, and stressed that the mosque needs comprehensive maintenance, especially the entrance staircase, which most of its parts are destroyed, in addition to external ceilings, and other parts of the building from the outside and inside.
He called on the Department of Mosques of the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs to pay a field visit to the mosque and consider its needs, as no mosque, no matter how many worshippers there, should be abandoned, and called for the placement of a plaque at the entrance to the street leading to the mosque on al-Wakra-Doha road, so that passers-by would pay attention to the presence of the mosque.

الدوحة: اشتكى رواد جامع زيدِ الخير الواقع بمنطقة أبوفنطاس من عدمِ وجود مُؤذّن أو إمام، وقال أحد رواد المسجد لـ الراية أنّه لاحظ أن خادم الجامع هو من يقوم بالأذان والإقامة في كل صلاة، كما أنَّ إدارة المساجد توفر خطيبًا للجامع في صلاة الجمعة فقط لإلقاء خطبة الجمعة وإمامة المُصلّين.
ولفت إلى أنَّ جامع زيد الخير الذي يحمل رقم (م.س 386) يعدّ من الجوامع القديمة التي بُنيت قبل عشرات السنين ويحرص مُعظم موظّفي مؤسسة كهرماء على أداء الصلاة فيه، كما يحرص عمال الشركات التي تعمل في المشاريع المجاورة على تأدية الصلاة فيه، هذا بالإضافة إلى عابري الطريق، وأكد أن الجامع بحاجة للصيانة الشاملة، وخاصةً سُلّم المدخل الذي تحطمت معظم أجزائه، بالإضافة إلى الأسقف الخارجية، وأجزاء أخرى مُتفرّقة للمبنى من الخارج والداخل.
ودعا إدارةَ المساجد التابعة لوزارة الأوقاف والشؤون الإسلامية، للقيام بزيارة ميدانية للجامع والنظر في احتياجاته، حيث أنه لا يجوز أن يتم هجر أيَّ جامع مهما كان عدد المصلين فيه قليلًا، كما دعا إلى وضع لوحة على مدخل الشارع المؤدّي إلى الجامع في طريق الوكرة- الدوحة، حتى ينتبه عابرو الطريق لوجود الجامع.
