Qatari writer to share travel explorations at QNL

Doha: Qatar National Library will present a travel adventure seminar on June 20 with Qatari travel writer and television presenter, Ali bin Towar Al Kuwari.

Al Kuwari’s role as host and presenter of the popular Arabic travel series, Khota Al Rahala, has seen the young Qatari travel to far-flung places around the world such as the Amazon rainforest in Brazil, the Shaolin School of Kung Fu in China, and on other exciting adventures.

Al Kuwari will share his explorations and experiences at the seminar in his usual lively and frank style of storytelling.

The Library regularly hosts such events to recognise Qatar’s outstanding youth and individuals, who are seen to have a role in educating others about the world and the diverse experiences of people from different communities and cultures across the globe.

Al Kuwari is not only a seasoned traveller, but is known in the community for his commitment to social responsibility in his role as Brand Ambassador for Vodafone Qatar and as an avid cyclist.

Haya Al Sheeb, Information Services Librarian at the Library, said: “The event is part of the Library’s commitment to providing an engaging learning environment where our community can be inspired to reach their full potential.”

“We are proud to offer a platform here at the Library for inspiring individuals such as Al Kuwari who are having an impact both socially and professionally, to share his experience as a world traveller.

In this way, we hope that our youth will benefit from interactions with role models who can have a positive influence on their formative learning and personal development,” added Al Sheeb.

The seminar is open to the public and will take place at the Library on 20 June from 4.30pm to 5.30 pm.

تستضيف مكتبة قطر الوطنية الرحالة القطري والمذيع التليفزيوني الشهير علي بن طوار الكواري في لقاء حول مغامراته ورحلاته في السفر والاستكشاف حول العالم وتجاربه المليئة بالمتعة والمعرفة. ويقام هذا اللقاء المفتوح للجمهور في 20 يونيو بقاعة المحاضرات بالمكتبة من الساعة 4:30 عصرًا إلى 5:30 مساءً.

جدير بالذكر أن الرحالة القطري الشاب علي الكواري، في إطار دوره كمقدم ومذيع لبرنامج “خطى الرحالة” على مدار أربعة مواسم، قد سافر إلى أماكن نائية في العالم مثل غابات الأمازون في البرازيل ومدرسة شاولين للكونغ فو في الصين، وغيرها. وسيتحدث في محاضرته بالمكتبة عن مغامراته وأسفاره الشيقة وتجاربه في السفر بأسلوبه الجذاب والمرح في سرد القصص.

يأتي هذا اللقاء ضمن حرص المكتبة الوطنية على استضافة رموز المجتمع القطري في مختلف المجالات للاحتفاء بإنجازاتهم الشخصية والمهنية، وتأكيدًا لدورهم في توعية الآخرين وتعريفهم بالثقافات المتنوعة لمختلف الشعوب والمجتمعات حول العالم.

وعلي الكواري ليس رحالة مخضرم فحسب، فهو معروف أيضًا في أوساط المجتمع بالتزامه بالمسؤولية المجتمعية في إطار دوره كسفير لعلامة فودافون قطر التجارية وكهاوٍ لركوب الدراجات، وله أيضًا كتاب بعنوان “حياة مغامر في الأمريكيتين”.

حول هذا اللقاء، قالت هيا الشيب، أخصائي المعلومات في المكتبة: ” يعكس هذا اللقاء التزام المكتبة بتوفير بيئة تعليمية جذابة وشيقة تلهم أفراد مجتمعنا لبلوغ أقصى إمكانياتهم”.

وأضافت هيا الشيب: “إننا نفخر في المكتبة باستضافة الشخصيات الملهمة والمحفزة التي لها تأثير قوي على الآخرين على المستويين الاجتماعي والمهني، حيث سيتحدث السيد علي الكواري عن تجربته كرحالة مخضرم حول العالم. ونأمل أن يستفيد الشباب في بلادنا من التواصل مع النماذج المتميزة في المجتمع ويستلهمون من تأثيرهم الإيجابي ما يعزز نمو شخصياتهم ويساهم في إثراء أفكارهم وتشكيل معارفهم وثقافتهم”.
