Sheikha Asma summits another tough mountain; fourth this year

Doha: Mount Ama Dablam, at an elevation of 6,812 metres, was successfully summited by Sheikha Asma Al Thani, making her the first Qatari female to do so.
After her fourth summit of the year, Sheikha Asma shared photographs of the climb on her official Instagram page.
In the post, she said: “We made it! We summitted the beautiful Ama Dablam “Mother’s Necklace” at 10AM yesterday, 8th of November.”
Sheikha Asma also shared that summitting Mount Ama Dablam was tough and highly technical due to its extreme altitude. Despite this, through teamwork and motivation shared amongst her team, they were able to ascend higher and reach the peak of the mountain.
“Congratulations! Qatari mountaineer Sheikha Asmaa Bint Thani Al-Thani reaches Ama Dablam summit with a height of 6,812m. It’s our champion’s fourth summit this year, Making her the first Qatari female to Summit Mount Amadablam,” Team Qatar said on social media.
Sheikha Asma also summitted Mount Dhaulagiri, the seventh highest mountain in the world, and Mount Manaslu, in which she became the first Arab to summit an 8000er mountain without oxygen in the last few months.

الدوحة: نجحت متسلق الجبال القطرية الشيخة أسماء بنت ثاني آل ثاني أن تصل إلى قمة جبل أما دابلام في النيبال بارتفاع 6,812 م لتصبح أول قطرية تصل إلى هذه القمة.
وبحسب اللجنة الأولمبية القطرية فإن هذه هي القمة الرابعة للمتسلقة القطرية في هذا العام.
وكانت متسلقة الجبال قد وصلت إلى قمة سابع أعلى جبل في العالم وهي قمة جبل دهاولاغيري في النيبال بارتفاع 8167 م.
سباق جائزة قطر الكبرى في الفترة ما بين 19 و21 نوفمبر القادم في حلبة لوسيل الدولية.
كما كانت قد وصلت إلى قمة جبل ماناسلو ثامن أعلى قمة في العالم بدون استخدام جهاز الأكسجين وذلك لأول مرة في تاريخ المرأة القطرية والعربية.
ونجحت في أغسطس الماضي في تسلق قمة جبل إلبروس في روسيا، لترفع علم دولة قطر خفاقاً فوق أعلى قمة في أوروبا.
