Ashghal Begins Work on Roads and Infrastructure in West Al Meshaf

Doha: The Public Works Authority (Ashghal) began working on Roads and Infrastructure Project in West Al Meshaf, Package 9 which aims to develop internal streets in the area and improve the traffic safety on them, as well as upgrade infrastructure facilities to respond to residents needs and urban growth in the future.

The Roads and Infrastructure in West Al Meshaf Project is being implemented at a cost of QR 558.4 million and is part of the New Subdivisions Program which is carried out by the Public Works Authority and includes a number of development projects across Qatar. The project is located in West of Al Meshaf Area, East of Mesaieed Road, North of Al Wukair Road and is bordered by Sheikh Saud bin Abdelrahman Street to the North and Al Wakra New Road to the East. The upgrading works will be implemented into three geographical zones which will be carried out successively, where the duration of all phases will be three years. Full completion of the project is scheduled for Q3, 2024.

Head of the Southern Area Section of the Roads Projects Department in Ashghal Eng. Ahmed Al Obaidly said that, upon its completion, the project will serve 1,144 residential plots in West Al Meshaf area, through the provision of upgraded infrastructure services including drainage networks, enhanced local streets and dedicated cycle and pedestrian paths to improve the traffic flow and provide connectivity to public amenities in the area.

For her part, Eng. Fatema Salat, Project Manager in the Roads Projects Department explained: “The project works involve developing a road network with a total length of 39 km equipped with road safety features and street lighting as well as road signs and marks. The project also features a 7 km shared pedestrian & cycle track.”

Furthermore, the project scope includes a 51-km long surface and groundwater drainage network, a 1-km-long foul sewer network, and 2 km of Treated Sewerage Effluent (TSE) network.

الدوحة: بدأت هيئة الأشغال العامة “أشغال” تنفيذ أعمال مشروع تطوير الطرق والبنية التحتية في منطقة غرب المشاف، الحزمة التاسعة، والذي يتضمن تطوير الشوارع الداخلية بالمنطقة ورفع مستوى السلامة بها، بالإضافة إلى تطوير مرافق البنية التحتية لتستجيب لمتطلبات السكان والنمو العمراني في المستقبل.

يقع المشروع الذي تبلغ تكلفته حوالي 558 مليونا و400 ألف ريال قطري، في منطقة غرب المشاف، تحديداً شرق طريق مسيعيد وشمال طريق الوكير، ويحدّه شمالاً شارع الشيخ سعود بن عبد الرحمن ومن الشرق طريق الوكرة الجديد.

وقد تم تقسيم أعمال المشروع إلى ثلاث مناطق جغرافية يتم العمل بها على التوالي ويستغرق تنفيذ جميع مراحل المشروع ثلاث سنوات، حيث من المخطط الانتهاء من تنفيذ كافة أعمال المشروع في الربع الثالث من عام 2024.

وأوضح المهندس أحمد العبيدلي، من إدارة مشروعات الطرق في “أشغال”، أن المشروع سيخدم عند اكتماله ألف و144 قسيمة لأراضي المواطنين في منطقة غرب المشاف، حيث يعمل المشروع على توفير خدمات متطورة للبنية التحتية من طرق وشوارع داخلية وممرات مخصصة للمشاة والدراجات الهوائية والتي من شأنها تعزيز انسيابية الحركة المرورية وتوفير الربط مع المرافق العامة بما يستجيب لمتطلبات السكان والنمو العمراني في المستقبل.

وعن فوائد المشروع، أشارت المهندسة فاطمة صلات، مديرة المشروع بإدارة مشروعات الطرق في “أشغال”، إلى أنه سيتم من خلال المشروع تطوير وإنشاء شبكة طرق بطول 39 كيلومترا مع توفير عناصر السلامة المرورية من أنظمة وأعمدة إنارة للشوارع، ولوحات إرشادية وعلامات الطريق، وتوفير مسارات مشتركة للمشاة والدراجات الهوائية بطول أكثر من 7 كيلومترات.

كما سيتم ضمن نطاق المشروع إنشاء شبكة صرف للمياه السطحية والجوفية بطول 51 كيلومترا، وشبكة للمياه المعالجة بطول 18 كيلومترا، إلى جانب خطوط لشبكة الصرف الصحي بطول كيلومتر واحد.

ويعد تطوير الطرق والبنية التحتية في منطقة غرب المشاف، الحزمة التاسعة أحد مشاريع برنامج تطوير البنية التحتية للمناطق والذي تنفذه هيئة الأشغال العامة، ويضم عدداً من المشاريع التطويرية الموزعة على كافة مناطق البلاد.
