Amir directs allocation of $480m in support of Palestinian people

Doha: Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani has directed allocation of $480m for brethren Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza Strip.
This support comes to reflect the bonds of brotherhood and the ties of Arabism and religion between the Qatari and Palestinian peoples, in order to help the brotherly Palestinian people to obtain their necessary life needs in the difficult circumstances imposed by the Israeli occupation forces, and the decline in the international humanitarian support provided to them, and the related United Nations programs besides the continued inability of the Palestinian economy to fulfill its required role as a result of the crises and challenges it has faced over the past years, resulting in the failure to provide the basic services and basic needs of the Palestinian people in all age groups, particularly the health and education sectors.
The Palestinian citizen’s need for education and health care are the most fundamental of the basic rights that the international community must cooperate to provide to all the Palestinian people in light of the continued Israeli occupation of the Palestinian territories and the denial of the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people to sovereignty over their land and resources. Qatar has allocated $300m in grants and loans to support the health and education budget of the Palestinian Authority, and $180m to provide urgent humanitarian relief support for the UN programs in Palestine and support electricity services to ensure access to the various sectors of the Palestinian people, especially during the holy month of Ramadan, and to meet the summer season in which electricity is increasingly needed.
Finally, the State of Qatar calls upon the international community and all its components to fulfill its humanitarian and moral responsibilities and to assist the brotherly Palestinian people to overcome the humanitarian crisis they face. The State of Qatar also reiterates its full commitment to stand by the brotherly Palestinian people for all their legitimate rights.
وجه حضرة صاحب السمو الشيخ تميم بن حمد آل ثاني أمير البلاد المفدى حفظه الله بتخصيص مبلغ 480 مليون دولار للأشقاء الفلسطينيين في كل من الضفة الغربية وقطاع غزة.
ويأتي هذا الدعم انطلاقا من أواصر الأخوة وروابط العروبة والدين بين الشعبين القطري والفلسطيني، وذلك لمساعدة الشعب الفلسطيني الشقيق في الحصول على احتياجاته الحياتية الضرورية في ظلّ الظروف الصعبة المفروضة عليهم من قبل قوات الاحتلال الاسرائيلي وتراجع الدعم الدولي الإنساني المقدّم لهم ولبرامج الأمم المتحدة الخاصة بهم واستمرار عدم قدرة الاقتصاد الفلسطيني على أداء دوره المطلوب بسبب ما واجهه طيلة السنوات الماضية من أزمات وتحديات نتج عنها عدم توفير الحد الأدنى من الخدمات والاحتياجات الأساسية للشعب الفلسطيني بجميع فئاته العمرية وبخاصة القطاع الصحي والتعليمي.
تعدّ حاجة المواطن الفلسطيني للتعليم والرعاية الصحية هي أبسط حقوقه الأساسية التي يجب على المجتمع الدولي أن يتعاون لتوفيرها لجميع أفراد الشعب الفلسطيني في ظل استمرار الاحتلال الإسرائيلي للأراضي الفلسطينية وحرمان الشعب الفلسطيني من حقوقه المشروعة في السيادة على أرضه ومواردها، لذا فقد خصصت دولة قطر 300 مليون دولار على شكل منح وقروض لدعم موازنة قطاعي الصحة والتعليم لدى السلطة الفلسطينية، و مبلغ 180 مليون دولار لتقديم الدعم الإغاثي والإنساني العاجل بالإضافة إلى دعم برامج الأمم المتحدة في فلسطين و دعم خدمات الكهرباء لضمان وصولها إلى قطاعات الشعب الفلسطيني المختلفة لا سيما أثناء شهر رمضان الكريم ولمواجهة موسم الصيف الذي تزداد الحاجة فيه إلى الكهرباء.
أخيرا فإن دولة قطر تدعو المجتمع الدولي بكافة مكوناته دولاً ومنظماتٍ الى القيام بمسؤولياته الإنسانية والأخلاقية ومساعدة الشعب الفلسطيني الشقيق لتجاوز الأزمة الإنسانية التي يواجهها كما تؤكد دولة قطر التزامها التامّ بالوقوف إلى جانب الشعب الفلسطيني الشقيق للحصول على كافة حقوقه المشروعة.
