Ministry: Obliging outlets to provide an Arabic-speaking person to announce offers

The Department of Public Relations and Communications of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry responded to some of the complaints and inquiries received by Watani al-Habib Program on Qatar Radio regarding the announcement of offers in Arabic and the high prices of fish.
In response to Mr. Talib’s remark The Ministry circulated on all major commissaries to announce offers in both Arabic and English via audio speakers, which serves all consumers, the ministry said that the customer had been contacted and that the necessary measures had been taken to ensure the provision of an Arabic speaking person to announce offers and discounts in all outlets.
Ministry of Commerce and Industry reported that Mr. Bou Abdullahi’s proposal, which complained about high fish prices, had been raised, proposing the establishment of a state fishing company through which prices would be adjusted for the relevant authorities to study.
On the high prices of fish, the ministry said that it obliges all outlets to comply with the prices of the daily mandatory bulletin for vegetables, fruits and fish and to be highlighted in clear places for the consumer.
The ministry noted that the management of butcher shops is the competence of Widam Food Company, in response to Mr. Mubarak’s request to delay the closing date of Al-Wakrah center market’s butcher shop.

ردت إدارة العلاقات العامة والاتصال في وزارة التجارة والصناعة عن بعض الشكاوى والاستفسارات التي وردت لبرنامج وطني الحبيب عبر إذاعة قطر فيما يخص الإعلان عن العروض باللغة العربية وارتفاع أسعار الأسماك.
وقالت الوزارة- رداً على ملاحظة السيد طالب بالتعميم على جميع الجمعيات الاستهلاكية الكبرى بالإعلان عن العروض الترويجية باللغتين العربية والإنجليزية عبر المكبرات الصوتية مما يخدم جميع المستهلكين – بأنه تم التواصل مع العميل واتخاذ الإجراءات اللازمة بشأن التعميم على كافة منافذ البيع بتوفير شخص يتحدث باللغة العربية للإعلان عن العروض والتخفيضات.
وأفادت التجارة والصناعة بأنه تم رفع مقترح السيد بو عبدالله الذي اشتكى من ارتفاع أسعار الأسماك مقترحا إنشاء شركة للصيد تابعة للدولة ويتم من خلالها ضبط الأسعار للجهات المعنية للدراسة.
وحول ارتفاع أسعار الأسماك، قالت الوزارة بأنها تلزم جميع منافذ البيع بالتقيد بأسعار النشرة الجبرية اليومية للخضروات والفواكه والأسماك وأن يتم إبرازها في أماكن واضحة للمستهلك.
ونوهت الوزارة أن إدارة المقاصب من اختصاص شركة ودام الغذائية، رداً على مطالبة السيد مبارك بتأخير موعد إغلاق مقصب سوق الوكرة المركزي.
