VCUarts Qatar Dean’s List Honors High Achieving Students

Doha: Virginia Commonwealth University School of the Arts in Qatar (VCUarts Qatar) recognized academic efforts of students in the 2021 Fall semester

VCUarts Qatar recently held a special online event to honor the students whose hard work and outstanding academic skills earned them a place on the Dean’s List.

The Dean’s List is a recognition of superior academic performance and only students with a Grade Point Average of 3.5 or higher, qualify. Of the 119 students who qualified to the Dean’s list in the Fall semester, 2021, 32 are from the Art Foundation Program, 20 are from the Art History program, eight are from the Fashion Design program, 30 are from the Graphic Design program, 17 are from the Interior Design program, and 12 are from the Painting + Printmaking program.

The Dean of VCUarts Qatar Amir Berbic congratulated the students, saying, “The shift from school to university is always a challenge, and even more so in the face of all the extra safety and health restrictions necessitated by a pandemic”. The fact that despite all these restrictions you achieved this distinction so early on in your university life says a lot about your determination, and passion in what you’re doing.

Across the global higher education sector, inclusion in a university’s Dean’s List is a recognition of a student’s commitment to hard work and academic excellence. At VCUarts Qatar, this selection takes place bi-annually, and is followed by a celebration to felicitate the recipients.

الدوحة: احتفت كلية فنون التصميم بجامعة /فرجينيا كومنولث/ في قطر بطلابها المتفوقين المدرجين في قائمة العميد لفصل الخريف 2021.

ونظمت الكلية والجامعة الشريكة لمؤسسة قطر حدثا خاصا عبر الإنترنت بسبب تداعيات جائحة كورونا، بالمدينة التعليمية، وذلك لتكريم هؤلاء الطلاب الذين أكسبهم عملهم الجاد ومهاراتهم الأكاديمية المتميزة مكانا في قائمة العميد التي تعد اعترافا بتفوقهم في الأداء الأكاديمي وحصولهم على معدل 3.5 أو أعلى.

وضمت قائمة الطلاب المتفوقين 119 طالبا، بينهم 32 طالبا من برنامج الفن التأسيسي (طلبة السنة الأولى)، و20 طالبا من برنامج تاريخ الفن، وثمانية طلاب من برنامج تصميم الأزياء، و30 طالبا من تصميم الجرافيك، و17 من برنامج التصميم الداخلي، و12 من برنامج الرسم والطباعة.

وبهذه المناسبة، هنأ السيد أمير بيربتش، عميد جامعة /فرجينيا كومنولث/ في قطر، الطلاب المتفوقين، مبينا أن “الانتقال من المدرسة إلى الجامعة يمثل تحديا دائما، وأكثر من ذلك مواجهة جميع القيود الإضافية المتعلقة بالسلامة والصحة التي فرضها وباء /كوفيد-19/”، مشيرا إلى أنه على الرغم من كل تلك القيود، تمكن الطلاب من تحقيق هذا التميز في وقت مبكر جدا من حياتهم الجامعية، وهو ما يؤكد على تصميمهم وشغفهم بما يفعلونه.

يشار إلى أنه في قطاع التعليم العالي العالمي، يعد الإدراج في قائمة عميد الجامعة اعترافا بالتزام الطالب بالعمل الجاد والتفوق الأكاديمي. وتقوم جامعة /فرجينيا كومنولث/ كلية فنون التصميم في قطر، بهذا الاختيار مرتين سنويا.
