Temporary Closure of Underpass at Umm Lekhba Interchange and Sections of Al Markhiya Street
إغلاق مؤقت للممر السفلي بتقاطع أم لخبا وجزء من شارع المرخية
The Public Works Authority ‘Ashghal’ announces a temporary closure of the underpass at Umm Lekhba Interchange and sections of Al Markhiya street in both directions for three (3) hours daily from 2 to 5 am, starting on Monday 22 April 2019 and will remain in place for two (2) months to enable the construction of Umm Lekhba Interchange that forms part of Sabah Al Ahmad Corridor.
During this diversion which is designed in coordination with the General Directorate of Traffic, road users will have to use the alternative routes described below, as shown in the attached maps.
From Al Markhiya Street to Al Luqta and Al Gharrafa
Traffic on Al Markhiya Street heading towards Al Luqta and Al Gharrafa will be diverted to Arab League Street and Khalifa Street to reach Al Gharrafa Interchange where they can exit through the service road then turn right towards Makkah Street to reach Al Luqta Area. In addition, road users can continue straight on Al Gharrafa Interchange and use the local roads following the signs to Thani Bin Jassim Street and Al Gharrafa.
From Thani Bin Jassim Street to Al Markhiya Street
Road users on Thani Bin Jassim Street heading towards Al Markhiya Street will have to use the alternative route from Al Ittihad Bridge and turn left through local roads to reach Al Markhiya Street.
The Public Works Authority will install road signs advising motorists of the traffic shift and requests all road users to abide by the 50 kph speed limit and follow road signs to ensure their safety.
تعلن هيئة الأشغال العامة “أشغال” عن تنفيذ إغلاق للممر السفلي بتقاطع أم لخبا وجزء من شارع المرخية في كلا الاتجاهين يوميا لمدة ثلاث ساعات من الساعة الثانية وحتى الساعة الخامسة صباحاً ابتداء من صباح يوم الاثنين 22 أبريل 2019 ويستمر هذا الإغلاق لمدة شهرين بهدف استكمال الأعمال الانشائية عند تقاطع أم لخبا كجزء من مشروع محور صباح الأحمد.
يأتي هذا التغيير المروري بالتنسيق مع الإدارة العامة للمرور، حيث سيتعين على رواد الطريق استخدام الطرق البديلة كما هو موضح أدناه وبالخريطة المرفقة.
من شارع المرخية الى اللقطة والغرافة
يستطيع رواد الطريق القادمون من شارع المرخية باتجاه منطقة الغرافة واللقطة استخدام شارع الجامعة العربية وشارع خليفة للوصول الى تقاطع الغرافة ومن ثم الانعطاف يساراً عبر طريق الخدمات الموازي لطريق الشمال ثم الانعطاف يمينا نحو شارع مكة ومنه الى منطقة اللقطة. كما يمكنهم الاستمرار مباشرة عبر تقاطع الغرافة واستخدام الطرق المحلية للوصول الى شارع ثاني بن جاسم.
من شارع ثاني بن جاسم الى شارع المرخية
يستطيع رواد الطريق القادمون من شارع ثاني بن جاسم باتجاه شارع المرخية استخدام جسر الاتحاد والانعطاف يسارا واتباع التحويل المروري عبر الطرق المحلية للوصول الى شارع المرخية.
ستقوم هيئة الأشغال العامة بتركيب اللوحات الإرشادية لتنبيه مستخدمي الطريق بهذا التحويل، وتهيب بجميع مستخدمي الطريق الالتزام بحدود السرعة المسموحة عند 50 كيلومتر في الساعة واتباع اللوحات الإرشادية حفاظاً على سلامتهم.
