A Call to complete street lighting with LED

Doha: A number of citizens called on the Public Works Authority to work on replacing all street lighting with LED lights, stressing that this type of lighting is characterized by the fact that it contributes to clarifying the visibility of the streets after the the sun goes down, and is more comfortable for the eyes unlike yellow lighting, as well as the distinction of lighting as energy-efficient and with a longer life span. They wondered why the plan to replace LED lighting units on the G Ring Road, where they had replaced lighting near bridges and left most of the lighting along the street intact, had not been completed, calling for the project to be completed.
The Public Works Authority announced earlier the implementation of a program to replace traditional road lighting with LED lighting, which is energy-efficient with a longer life expectancy, and more efficient than traditional lighting, in several areas of the country with the aim of achieving road traffic safety, where it achieves better visibility for road users, and contributes to reducing maintenance costs, as well as reducing the value of electricity consumption, where LED lighting units save power by 50 to 55% of the traditional system.

الدوحة: طالبَ عددٌ من المُواطنين هيئة الأشغال العامة «أشغال» العمل على استبدال جميع إنارة الشوارع بكشّافات (LED)، مؤكّدين أنَّ هذا النوع من الإنارة يتميّزُ بأنّهُ يُساهم في توضيح رؤية الشّوارع بعد غياب الشّمس، كما أنّه مريحٌ أكثر للعينَين على عكس الإنارة الصّفراء، فضلًا عن تميّز إضاءته بأنها موفّرة للطاقة وذات عمر افتراضي أطول. وتساءلوا عن سبب عدم استكمال مخطط استبدال وحدات إنارة LED في طريق الدائري السابع الذي قامت فيه باستبدال الإنارة القريبة من الجسور وترك مُعظم الإنارة على طول الشارع على حالها، داعين إلى ضرورة استكمال المشروع.
وكانت هيئةُ الأشغال العامّة «أشغال» أعلنت في وقت سابق تنفيذ برنامج لاستبدال الإنارة التقليدية على الطرق بأخرى من نوع LED، وهي إضاءة موفرة للطاقة وذات عمر افتراضي أطول، وأكفأ من الإنارة التقليدية، وذلك في عدّة مناطق في الدولة بهدف تحقيق السلامة المروريّة على الطريق، حيث تحقق رؤية أفضل لمستخدمي الطريق، كما تُسهم في خفض تكاليف الصيانة، وذلك لاستمراريتها لعمر أطول، فضلًا عن خفض قيمة استهلاك الكهرباء، حيث توفّر وحدات الإضاءة LED الطاقة بنسبةٍ تتراوح بين 50، و55 % عن النظام التقليدي.
