HH the Amir, HH the Father Amir Perform Istisqa Prayer

Doha: HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani performed the Istisqa (rain-seeking) prayer along with crowds of worshipers at Al-Wajba prayer ground on Thursday morning, in revival of the Sunnah of Prophet Mohammed (Peace Be Upon Him), praying to Allah the Almighty for rainfall.
HH the Father Amir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani also performed the prayer.
HH Personal Representative of HH the Amir Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al-Thani, HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al-Thani and HE Sheikh Jassim bin Khalifa Al-Thani participated in the prayer.
HE Speaker of the Shura Council Hassan bin Abdullah Al Ghanim, and a number of Their Excellencies Sheikhs and Ministers along with citizens also joined the prayer.
In a sermon after the prayer, the Judge at the Court of Cassation and Member of the Judicial Supreme Council Sheikh Dr. Thaqeel Sayer Al Shammari, who led the prayer, urged the worshippers to repent, pray for Allah forgiveness and ask for rain in line with the Sunnah of the Prophet Mohammed (Peace Be Upon Him).
Dr. Al Shammari also urged people to purify their money and to pay Zakat and give alms, which are one of the reasons for rainfall.

الدوحة: أدى حضرة صاحب السمو الشيخ تميم بن حمد آل ثاني أمير البلاد المفدى، صلاة الاستسقاء صباح اليوم مع جموع المصلين بمصلى الوجبة إحياء لسنة الرسول الكريم محمد صلى الله عليه وسلم طلبا لنزول الغيث.
كما أدى الصلاة صاحب السمو الأمير الوالد الشيخ حمد بن خليفة آل ثاني.
وأدى الصلاة أيضا سمو الشيخ جاسم بن حمد آل ثاني الممثل الشخصي للأمير وسمو الشيخ محمد بن خليفة آل ثاني وسعادة الشيخ جاسم بن خليفة آل ثاني.
كما شارك في تأدية الصلاة سعادة السيد حسن بن عبدالله الغانم رئيس مجلس الشورى وعدد من أصحاب السعادة الشيوخ والوزراء والسادة المواطنين.
وقد أكد فضيلة الشيخ الدكتور ثقيل ساير الشمري القاضي بمحكمة التمييز عضو المجلس الأعلى للقضاء الذي أم المصلين في خطبة ألقاها عقب الصلاة على أهمية التضرع إلى الله وإظهار الحاجة إليه لنزول المطر وطلب المغفرة منه سبحانه، لأنها من أسباب نزول الغيث، وأوضح فضيلته أن صلاة الاستسقاء صلاة تضرع ودعاء وتوبة واستغفار، وأنها من سنن المرسلين، فالله أمرنا بالدعاء، ووعد عباده المؤمنين بالإجابة.
كما دعا فضيلته إلى تطهير الأموال والأنفس بالزكوات والصدقات، وحث على الإكثار من الاستغفار بقوله تعالى “فقلت استغفروا ربكم إنه كان غفارا يرسل السماء عليكم مدرارا”.
