MME opens public park and walkway in Al Thakhira

Doha: The Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME), represented by Al Khor and Al Thakhira Municipality, opened yesterday a public park in Al Thakhira City.

A walkway with a parallel track for bicycle riders was also inaugurated at Al Thakhira Corniche. The projects ‘Sharq Garden’ and ‘Al Thakhira Walkway’ were built by Al Thakhira Municipality with the support of Ras Laffan Industrial Community Outreach Program at a cost of QR2.5m.

The opening ceremony was attended by Rashid Jassim Al Muraikhi, an expert at the office of the Director of Al Thakhira Municipality; Abdullatif Ibrhaim Al Muhannadi, Head of Ras Laffan Industrial Community Outreach Program; Hamad bin Lahdan Al Muhannadi, Vice-Chairman of Central Municipal Council (CMC); Sheikha Dana Rashid Al Thani from Ras Laffan Industrial Community Outreach Program.

The first project ‘Sharq Garden’ was built in a stretch of 4,841 sqm with 3,500 sqm green areas. The park has 16 big Sidr trees and three areas with flower plans. The walkway is two metre wide and 320 metre long. There are three big shaded areas, two play areas for children and parking lots.

The second project walkway was built on the Corniche which is 1,800 metre long and three metre wide with a parallel track for bicycle riders.

Benches with 60 seating arrangements were set up along the walkway. Play areas were developed in 1,250 sqm area where different types of games were installed for the children.

“The projects ‘Sharq Garden’ and ‘Al Thakhira Walkway’ were developed in a year at a cost of about QR2.5m,” Rashid Jassim Al Muraikhi told The Peninsula.

He said that both the projects served the residents of Al Thakhira city and those from neighbouring areas.

“The walkway was built at Al Thakhira Corniche which attracts a big number of visitors from all over the country specially during weekend and holidays,” said Al Muraikhi.

Sheikha Dana Rashid Al Thani said that ‘Sharq Garden’ and ‘Al Thakhira Walkway’ are part of the projects being developed with the support of the programme at the northern part of the country.

افتتحت وزارة البلدية والبيئة، ممثلة ببلدية الخور والذخيرة، أمس، حديقة شرق بمدينة الذخيرة، وممشى الذخيرة، اللذين تم تنفيذهما بدعم من برنامج راس لفان للتواصل الاجتماعي، في إطار التعاون المستمر بين البلدية والبرنامج في خدمة المجتمع. حضر الافتتاح كل من السادة: راشد جاسم المريخي خبير بمكتب مدير بلدية الخور والذخيرة، وعبداللطيف إبراهيم المهندي مدير مدينة راس لفان الصناعية، ورئيس برنامج راس لفان للتواصل الاجتماعي، وحمد بن لحدان المهندي نائب رئيس المجلس البلدي المركزي، والشيخة دانة راشد آل ثاني كبير مسؤولي برنامج راس لفان للتواصل الاجتماعي، وحمد علي هزيم المريخي مدير إدارة شؤون الخدمات بالبلدية، بالإضافة إلى عدد من مسؤولي البلدية، وبرنامج راس لفان للتواصل الاجتماعي.

وتم إنشاء حديقة شرق بمدينة الذخيرة على مساحة إجمالية 4841 متراً مربعاً، وعمل شبكة ري آلية، وزراعة مسطحات خضراء بمساحة 3500 متر مربع، وزراعة 3 مناطق زهور ومغطيات تربة بإجمالي 2400 من النباتات المتنوعة، وزراعة 16 شجرة سدر كبيرة، كما يحيط الحديقة سور خارجي بطول 320 متراً، ويوجد من الداخل ممشى من الإنترلوك بعرض مترين، وطول 320 متراً.

وتحتوي الحديقة على مظلة كبيرة سداسية الشكل، و3 مظلات أخريات، كما تحتوي على منطقتي ألعاب أطفال متنوعة بين لعبة كبيرة وألعاب صغيرة متنوعة، و13 عامود إضاءة، ويحيط بالحديقة من الجهتين مواقف للسيارات تسع عدد 35 سيارة تقريباً.

أما المشروع الثاني الذي تم افتتاحه فهو ممشى الذخيرة الذي يتميز بإطلالته المباشرة على الشاطئ مباشرة، ويبلغ طوله 1800 متر، وعرضه 3 أمتار، وتم إنشاء ممشى للدراجات بعرض 3 أمتار وطول 2000 متر، وتم تركيب 93 عامود إنارة تعمل بالطاقة الشمسية، و60 مقعداً خشبياً على امتداد الممشى، كما تم إنشاء منطقتي ألعاب بمساحة إجمالية 1250 متراً مربعاً، كل منطقة تحتوي على ألعاب أطفال متنوعة ومحاطة بسور من الـ «بي في سي» بطول 200 متر، وتم إنشاء ساحتين من الإنترلوك بمساحة إجمالية 10000 متر مربع، مما يجعل من هذا المشروع مكاناً مثالياً لاستمتاع جميع أفراد الأسرة بمختلف فئاتها العمرية، ويعد إضافة حضارية لمدينة الذخيرة.
