Qatar Tourism prepares to launch “World Class Chefs” project

Qatar Tourism, in collaboration with Qatar Airways, Qatar Aircraft Catering company (QACC), and Kings of Kitchen, is all set to kick off the “World Class Chefs” project later this month. which will run until 2023, hosting some of the year’s high-profile and award-winning international chefs

The project aims to enrich Qatar’s thriving food and culinary landscape and explore investment opportunities, through the “World Class Chefs” project, Qatar Tourism, in collaboration with its partners, will diversify the country’s tourism offerings for residents and international visitors by introducing new gastronomic experiences. Qatar Tourism continues its efforts to support investment opportunities in various tourism sectors, particularly Qatar’s hospitality and restaurants sector.

This contributes to Qatar’s position as a tourist destination with the world’s most famous and important restaurants. Qatar is home to a number of prestigious restaurants for its high-profile international chefs, and a strong and diverse award-winning hospitality sector, making it a promising destination for introducing new concepts in fine dining.

“The food and beverage sector reflects the diverse population in Qatar and is a fundamental pillar of our tourism offerings”. Berthold Trinkel, Chief Operating Officer of Qatar Tourism said.

Food events are also popular in the country, and we are delighted to introduce “World Class Chefs” project and the return of beloved events such as the Qatar International Food Festival in the coming months. With a multiplicity of culinary experiences, these initiatives contribute to demonstrating the sector’s presentations to a more diverse audience.

The first activities of the “World Class Chefs” project will be launched during the last week of October, with the participation of the French chef Julien Rocheteau, who has won many international awards and is one of the chefs awarded with a Michelin star, and is the most famous and most important guide and classification of restaurants and chefs in the world.

تستعد قطر للسياحة، بالتعاون مع الخطوط الجوية القطرية، والشركة القطرية لتموين الطائرات وكينغز أوف كيتشن، لإطلاق مبادرة “الطهاة العالميين” الذي سيتم تدشين أولى فعالياته خلال شهر أكتوبر الحالي، ويمتد حتى عام 2023 يجري خلاله استضافة نخبة من أشهر الطهاة حول العام، والحائزين على جوائز عالمية. ويهدف المشروع إلى إثراء مشهد الطعام والطهي المزدهر في قطر وإلى استكشاف فرص الاستثمار فيها، تسعى قطر للسياحة من خلال مشروع “الطهاة العالميين”، بالتعاون مع شركائها، إلى تنويع التجارب والمنتجات السياحية للمقيمين والزوار. وتواصل جهودها لدعم فرص الاستثمار في مختلف القطاعات السياحية وخاصة قطاع الضيافة والمطاعم في قطر. وهو ما يساهم في تعزيز مكانة قطر كوجهة سياحية تذخر بأشهر وأهم المطاعم العالمية. وتتميز قطر باحتضانها لعدد من المطاعم المرموقة لأشهر الطهاة، ووجود قطاع ضيافة قوي ومتنوع حاصل على العديد من الجوائز، وهو ما يجعلها وجهة واعدة لتقديم مفاهيم جديدة في الطعام الفاخر.

وبهذه المناسبة، قال السيد بيرتولد ترينكل، رئيس العمليات في قطر للسياحة: “إن قطاع الأغذية والمشروبات يعكس التنوع السكاني في قطر ويعد ركيزة أساسية للعروض السياحية التي نتقدمها. كما تحظى فعاليات الطعام بشعبية واسعة في البلاد، ويسعدنا أن نقدم مشروع الطهاة العالميين وعودة الفعاليات المحببة مثل مهرجان قطر الدولي للأغذية خلال الأشهر المقبلة. ومع تعدد الخبرات في فن الطهي، تساهم هذه المبادرات في إظهار العروض التي يقدمها القطاع لجمهور أكثر تنوعاً”.

وسوف يتم تدشين أول فعاليات مشروع “الطهاة العالميين” خلال الأسبوع الأخير من شهر أكتوبر الحالي، بمشاركة الشيف الفرنسي جوليان روشيتو، الحاصل على العديد من الجوائز العالمية كما أنه أحد الطهاة الحاصلين على نجمة ميشلان، وهو أشهر وأهم دليل وتصنيف مطاعم وطهاة في العالم.
