QU Celebrates Graduation of 44th Batch of Female Students

Doha: Qatar University on Tuesday celebrated the graduation of the forty-fourth batch (girls) of Qatar University female students (batch of 2021), whose number reached 2,819 in various disciplines out of the total number of 3648 graduates of this batch.

The ceremony was held with safety and precautionary measures approved by the state taken into account in the context of combating the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

In a speech he gave on the occasion, President of Qatar University Dr. Hassan Rashid Al Derham stressed that the successive batches of the university’s graduates have contributed a great deal to the comprehensive development that “our beloved country, Qatar, is witnessing in the social, cultural, economic and other fields”.

Qatar University President pointed out that public education and higher education in particular have played the most important role in making the country’s comprehensive development in recent decades in various aspects of social, economic and political life. Since its establishment, Qatar University has had the most prominent share in leading the growth and development of the society in general, and for Qatari women in particular.

Dr. Al Derham added that the positive and distinguished transformation achieved by Qatar University in pushing women to play their role in achieving growth and development came as a result of the universitys vision and mission over the years, as it sought to carry out this task through three axes. The first of these axes is the permanent development of the universitys academic programs to keep pace with the changes of the times, in order to respond to the logic of development and modernization, aiming to confirm the pioneering role of Qatari women in achieving development and progress.

Dr. Al Derham added that the second axis is that the university was keen to attract, prepare and train many leading female academics and researchers who contributed to achieving the universitys mission and roles, but, moreover, led these transformations in the Qatari society. The third that had the greater impact is the axis that includes female students and graduates that the university worked to equip many of them with skills, values and attributes that qualify them to enter the practical life efficiently and competently, through a unique student experience.

Dr. Al Derham meanwhile stated that Qatar University has accomplished many achievements, explaining that according to the QS classification, the university achieved the 24th place at the global level and ranked second among the best universities in the Arab world according to the classification of the Times Higher Education College. Such a great achievement would not have been made without, after grace of the Almighty Allah, the guidance and follow-up of the Universitys Board of Trustees and the continuous support of the rational government. In the context of excellence and superiority, many faculties and programs at Qatar University obtained academic accreditation from the most prestigious international bodies, which clearly confirms that the knowledge provided by Qatar University which is no less, in terms of scientific content and academic quality, than what is offered by the most prestigious international universities, Dr. Al Derham stressed.

Dr. Al Derham said: “Qatar University is firmly convinced that continued success is linked to striving to provide what is best for its students and society,” especially in the shadow of the challenges at the local and global levels during the recent years. This increased the spirit of competition to attract promising students among the various educational institutions, and raised the ceiling of their expectations and requirements.”

Directing his speech to the female graduates, Dr. Al Derham said: “Qatar University is not just a passing stage in your drive which ends with the completion of study and graduation from it. Rather, it is the starting point and reference to which the graduate returns. The university, with its faculty and all sectors, spares no effort to serve you to increase knowledge. Seeking knowledge is a long path we take, and a goal we endeavor to achieve, and that is why the Almighty Allah commanded us to obtain more of it. The Almighty Allah says: And say “My Lord, increase me in knowledge”, Dr. Al Derham said.

In a speech she delivered on behalf of her colleagues, Mozah Al Obeidan stressed that Qatar University has given them the knowledge and skills that would enable them to perform their mission to the fullest, “as among them is the teacher who builds generations, the doctor who saves lives, the engineer who innovates for the human being, media woman, administrator, accountant, lawyer, pharmacist, researcher, and writer. Women are the best who have been able to work in their practical field in silence and determination.”

The graduation ceremony included the screening of a documentary film produced by the university, in which the achievement milestones in the edifice of Qatar University were monitored, starting with its vision and ending with its most important achievements and successes during the past year. Qatar University has more than 25,000 students, more than 1,700 faculty members, and offers more than 100 academic programs.

الدوحة: احتفلت جامعة قطر يوم أمس بتخريج الدفعة الرابعة والأربعين /بنات/ من خريجات جامعة قطر /دفعة 2021/، واللاتي وصل عددهن إلى 2819 خريجة في مختلف التخصصات من إجمالي عدد خريجي هذه الدفعة البالغ عددها 3648 خريجا وخريجة.

وقد أقيم الحفل مع مراعاة إجراءات السلامة والتدابير الاحترازية التي أقرتها الدولة في إطار مكافحة وباء فيروس كورونا /كوفيد-19/.

وأكد الدكتور حسن راشد الدرهم رئيس جامعة قطر في كلمته بهذه المناسبة، أن الأفواج المتتالية من خريجات الجامعة أسهمت بسهم وافر فيما يشهده وطننا الحبيب قطر من نهضة شاملة في الجوانب الاجتماعية، والثقافية، والاقتصادية، وغيرها من مختلف المجالات.

ولفت رئيس جامعة قطر إلى أن التعليم العام والتعليم العالي تحديدا ساهما بالدور الأهم في صناعة النهضة الشاملة التي يشهدها وطننا في العقود الأخيرة في مختلف جوانب الحياة الاجتماعية والاقتصادية والسياسية، ولقد كان لجامعة قطر منذ تأسيسها وحتى وقتنا الراهن النصيب الأبرز في قيادة قاطرة التنمية والنهضة للمجتمع بصفة عامة، وللمرأة القطرية خاصة.

وأضاف الدكتور الدرهم، أن التحول الإيجابي والمتميز الذي حققته جامعة قطر في دفع المرأة للقيام بدورها في تحقيق التنمية والنهضة جاء نتيجة لرؤية الجامعة ورسالتها عبر السنين، حيث سعت الجامعة للقيام بهذه المهمة عبر محاور ثلاثة، أولها التطوير الدائم لبرامج الجامعة الأكاديمية لتواكب متغيرات العصر ولتستجيب لمنطق التطور والتحديث، هادفة لتأكيد الدور الريادي للمرأة القطرية في تحقيق التنمية والنهضة، أما المحور الثاني فقد حرصت الجامعة على استقطاب وإعداد وتكوين الكثير من الأكاديميات والباحثات الرائدات اللاتي أسهمن في تحقيق رسالة الجامعة وأدوارها، بل قدن هذه التحولات في المجتمع القطري، والمحور الثالث والأكثر أثرا هو ما يشمل الطالبات والخريجات التي عملت الجامعة على إعدادهن بمهارات وقيم وسمات تؤهلهن لخوض غمار الحياة العملية بكفاءة واقتدار، من خلال تجربة طلابية فريدة.

وأكد رئيس الجامعة أن جامعة قطر تنطلق من رسالة تحتوي منظومة قيمية تتربع الحرية الفكرية والكرامة الإنسانية أعلاها، حيث تعمل الجامعة من خلال هذه المنظومة على بناء الإنسان القطري المزود بالمعارف العلمية، والمعتز بهويته وانتمائه لدينه ووطنه، والمنفتح على مختلف التجارب البشرية، تفاعلا صحيا متوازنا يسهم في إثراء الحضارة الإنسانية.

وأفاد الدكتور بأن جامعة قطر حققت الكثير من الإنجازات، فوفقا لتصنيف QS حققت الجامعة المركز الرابع والعشرين بعد المائتين على المستوى العالمي، كما احتلت الجامعة المركز الثاني لأفضل الجامعات في العالم العربي وفقا لتصنيف مؤسسة تايمز للتعليم العالي، إن هذا الإنجاز الكبير ما كان ليتحقق بعد فضل الله تعالى لولا التوجيه والمتابعة من مجلس أمناء الجامعة، والدعم المتواصل من الحكومة الرشيدة، وفي سياق التميز والتفوق، حصلت الكثير من الكليات والبرامج في جامعة قطر على الاعتماد الأكاديمي من أرقى الهيئات الدولية، الأمر الذي يؤكد بوضوح أن ما تقدمه جامعة قطر من علوم ومعارف، لا يقل من حيث المحتوى العلمي والجودة الأكاديمية عما تقدمه أرقى الجامعات العالمية.

وقال الدكتور حسن راشد الدرهم رئيس جامعة قطر: “إن جامعة قطر تنطلق من قناعة راسخة بأن دوام النجاح مرتبط بالسعي المتواصل لتقديم ما هو أفضل لطلابها ولمجتمعها، خاصة في ظل التحديات على المستويين المحلي والعالمي، فقد تغير مشهد التعليم العالي في دولة قطر خلال السنوات الأخيرة، مما زاد من روح التنافس على جذب الطلبة الواعدين بين المؤسسات التعليمية المختلفة، وارتفع بسقف توقعاتهم ومتطلباتهم”.

ووجه الدكتور الدرهم كلامه للخريجات قائلا: “إن جامعة قطر ليست مجرد مرحلة عابرة في مسيرتكن، تنتهي بانتهاء الدراسة فيها والتخرج منها، بل هي المنطلق والمرجع الذي تعود إليه الخريجة، فالجامعة بأساتذتها وكل قطاعاتها لا يألون جهدا في خدمتكن استزادة من العلم والمعرفة، فطلب العلم طريق نسلكه، وهدف نسعى للوصول إليه، ولذلك أمرنا الله سبحانه وتعالى بالاستزادة منه في قوله تعالى: وقل ربي زدني علما”.

وفي كلمتها نيابة عن زميلاتها أكدت الخريجة موزة العبيدان: أن جامعة قطر أعطتهن من المعارف والمهارات ما يمكنهن من أداء مهمتهن على أكمل وجه حيث أصبحت من بينهن المعلمة التي تبني الأجيال، والطبيبة التي تحفظ الأرواح، والمهندسة التي تبتكر للإنسان، والإعلامية والإدارية والمحاسبة والمحامية والصيدلانية والباحثة والأديبة، فالمرأة خير من تمكن في مجاله العملي بكل صمت وإصرار.

وقد تضمن حفل التخريج عرض فيلم تسجيلي من إنتاج الجامعة تم من خلاله رصد محطات الإنجاز في مسيرة صرح جامعة قطر، بدءا من رؤيتها وانتهاء بأهم إنجازاتها ونجاحاتها خلال العام المنصرم.

وتضم جامعة قطر ما يزيد على 25 ألف طالب وطالبة، وأكثر من ألف و700 عضو في هيئتها التدريسية، وتقدم أكثر من مئة برنامج أكاديمي.
