Doha: Qatari adventurer Fahad Badar said he is undergoing surgery in London due to frostbite, noting that his body will not return as it was and he has to face daily challenges.
“On July 17, 2021, I started climbing to the top of Mount Broadbeck, and the next day after reaching the summit there were several incidents in very cold conditions, resulting in frostbite,” said adventurer Badar, who shared his photos during the surgery on his official Twitter account.
“I am currently in London burdened with a wide range of questions about losing an essential part of my body.”
“I’ve never thought in the previous years that I’m going to lose my fingers to frostbite, especially while doing the thing I love most about mountaineering. After this surgery, my body will never be the same again, and I have to face several challenges in my daily life… “.
He noted that the simplest basic tasks would be a major challenge, and asked several questions: How do I deal with something like this? How do I accept the sudden transformation of my life? How do I keep doing my hobbies? Will I have the passion and the ability to go through more adventures and climb mountains?
“These questions are repeated in my mind and no one can answer them except me,” he said. My determination to overcome obstacles and challenges is the only hope I hold on to.

الدوحة: قال المغامر القطري فهد بادار إنه يجري جراحة في لندن بسبب قضمة الصقيع، مشيراً إلى أن جسده لن يعود كما كان وعليه أن يواجه التحديات اليومية .
وقال المغامر بادار – الذي شارك صوره أثناء إجراء الجراحة على حسابه الرسمي بموقع تويتر – “في 17 يوليو 2021 ، بدأت الصعود إلى قمة جبل برودبيك، وفي اليوم التالي بعد الوصول للقمة وقعت عدة حوادث في ظروف شديدة البرودة، أدت إلى إصابتي بقضمة الصقيع”.
وأضاف: “أتواجد حالياً في لندن مثقلاً بمجموعة كبيرة من الأسئلة والتي تدور حول فقدان جزء أساسي من جسدي”.
وتابع: “لم أفكر مطلقًا خلال الأعوام الماضية في أنني سأفقد أصابعي بسبب قضمة الصقيع ، خاصةً أثناء القيام بأكثر شيء أحبه وهو تسلق الجبال. بعد إجراء هذه الجراحة لن يعود جسدي كما كان مرة أخرى، وعلي مواجهة عدة تحديات في حياتي اليومية… “.
وأشار إلى أن أبسط المهام الأساسية ستشكل تحديًا كبيرًا، وطرح عدة أسئلة: كيف أتعامل مع شيء كهذا؟ كيف أقبل التحول المفاجئ في حياتي؟ كيف أستمر في ممارسة هواياتي؟ هل سأمتلك الشغف والقدرة على خوض المزيد من المغامرات وتسلق الجبال؟
وقال: تتكرر هذه الأسئلة في ذهني ولا أحد يملك الإجابة عليها سواي. عزمي وإصراري على تجاوز العوائق والتحديات هو الأمل الوحيد الذي أتشبث به.
وأضاف: ما زلت ممتنًا إلى الأبد لكوني على قيد الحياة على الرغم من شعوري بالقلق من المستقبل. كما أنني ممتن لكل الدعم الذي أحصل عليه يوميًا منكم جميعًا.
