Katara Extends “Language in Holy Qur’an” Competition

Doha: The Cultural Village Foundation (Katara) has announced the extension of the “Language in the Holy Qur’an” competition for a month, with the last day for submitting research to be on Nov. 14 instead of Oct. 14, at the request of many participants who petitioned the competition committee, extending the deadline so that they can complete their research.

In July, Katara launched a research competition in Islamic, linguistic and rhetorical studies under the title: “Language in The Holy Qur’an” within the activities of Doha, Capital of Islamic Culture 2021.

The Foundation identified the areas of its competition in three fields, namely: “The Qur’anic language and style and their secrets”, the aesthetics of semantics and context in the Qur’anic text, and the aesthetics of pictorial and narrative performance in the Holy Qur’an.

The competition aims to support the movement of authorship and printing, to compete in the production of books on the aesthetics of language in the Holy Qur’an, to enhance the status of Qur’anic studies in the reality of contemporary Islamic culture, and to push Arab thought to research the Holy Qur’an with modern methodologies and methodological tools, and presenting a new and contemporary production in the field of linguistic miracles of the Holy Qur’an.

The competition set general conditions by making it available in the Arabic language at an international level, for everyone who is proficient in research, and that the submitted work should not have previously been published, or include published chapters, and that the work submitted should not be scientific theses (Masters or PhD), with the need to adhere to the scientific methodology in writing scientific research, and to adhere to the methodology of scientific documentation in force in writing scientific research.

Katara has allocated prizes totaling USD60,000 for the competition, where the first place holder will receive USD30,000, the second place will receive USD20,000, and the third place will receive a USD10,000 prize.

الدوحة: أعلنت المؤسسة العامة للحي الثقافي /كتارا/، عن تمديد مسابقة “اللغة في القرآن الكريم” لمدة شهر على أن يكون آخر يوم لتسليم البحوث هو يوم 14 نوفمبر القادم بدلاً من 14 أكتوبر الجاري، وذلك نزولاً عند رغبة الكثير من المشاركين الذين التمسوا من لجنة المسابقة تمديد موعد التسليم ليتمكنوا من إكمال بحوثهم.

وكانت /كتارا/، قد أطلقت في يوليو الماضي مسابقة بحثية في الدراسات الإسلامية واللغوية والبلاغية تحت عنوان: “اللغة في القرآن الكريم” ضمن فعاليات الدوحة عاصمة الثقافة الإسلامية 2021.

وحدّدت المؤسسّة محاور مسابقتها في ثلاثة حقول، هي: اللغة والأسلوب القرآني وأسرارهما البلاغية، وجماليات الدلالة والسياق في النص القرآني، وجماليات الأداء التصويري والسردي في القرآن الكريم.

وتهدف المسابقة الى دعم حركة التأليف والطباعة، للتنافس في إنتاج مؤلفات حول جماليات اللغة في القرآن الكريم، وتعزيز مكانة الدراسات القرآنية في واقع الثقافة الإسلامية المُعاصرة، ودفع الفكر العربي للبحث في القرآن الكريم بمنهجيات حديثة وأدوات منهجية، وتقديم إنتاج جديد ومُعاصر في مجال الإعجاز اللغوي للقرآن الكريم.

وحددت المسابقة شروطًا عامة عبر إتاحتها باللغة العربية على مستوى دولي، لكل من يتقن البحث بها، وألا يكون العمل المُقدّم قد سبق نشره من قبل، أو يتضمن فصولًا منشورة، وألا يكون العمل المُقدّم رسائل علمية (ماجستير أو دكتوراه)، مع ضرورة الالتزام بالمنهجية العلمية في كتابة البحث العلمي، والالتزام بمنهجية التوثيق العلمي المعمول بها في كتابة البحث العلمي.

وخصصت كتارا جوائز مجموعها 60 ألف دولار أمريكي للمسابقة، حيث سيحصل صاحب المركز الأول على 30 ألف دولار، والمركز الثاني على 20 ألف دولار، أما صاحب المركز الثالث فسيحصل على جائزة قيمتها 10 آلاف دولار، مع نشر العمل ضمن إصدارات دار كتارا للنشر.
