Varicose veins treatment in one hour by HMC

Doha: Dr. Amr Fares, Senior Consultant of Vascular Surgery at Hamad Medical Corporation, revealed new techniques for treating varicose veins through the use of laser, injection and thermal frequency, in a medical procedure that does not exceed one hour, after which the patient can practice his life normally.

In exclusive statements to Al-Raya, he said that there is no longer a need to treat varicose veins by opening the skin as was the case in the past, explaining that the problem of varicose veins suffers from many of the outpatient clinics of the vascular department, and their percentage is more than 75%.

He pointed out that more than 1,474 patients were received during the month of September alone, in vascular clinics, pointing out that this number includes patients who were received face to face in clinics, who numbered 894, in addition to patients who were provided with medical consultations via telephone consultations, which numbered 580 patients.

He added: The clinics work for five days, Sunday to Thursday, and include performing some medical interventions such as varicose veins injection, sound waves or wound dressing, and others, pointing out that the department in general specializes in three basic matters, namely, the treatment of arteries and their problems, and the treatment of veins and varicose veins and related matters and the treatment of lymphatic dysvascular dysfunction.

“The Vascular Department performs daily surgeries through a dedicated operating room, in addition to performing operations 3 times a week at the National Center for Cancer Treatment and Research to install special catheters for patients with cancer who need chemotherapy”. He added.

“The most prominent disease complaints among the auditors are varicose veins, where the prevalence rate increases among them to more than three quarters of patients, explaining that its treatment includes conservative and pharmacological treatments and varicose veins injections in addition to laser treatment, as well as diabetic foot diseases and feet ischemia, i.e. lack of blood in them, in addition to arterial diseases”. He explained.

الدوحة: كشف الدكتور عمرو فارس، استشاري أول جراحة الأوعية الدموية بمؤسسة حمد الطبية عن تقنيات جديدة لعلاج الدوالي من خلال استعمال الليزر والحقن والتردد الحراري وذلك في إجراء طبي لا يتعدى الساعة الواحدة يستطيع بعدها المريض ممارسة حياته بشكل طبيعي.

وقال في تصريحات خاصة لـ الراية إنه لم تعد هناك حاجة حاليًا لعلاج الدوالي من خلال فتح الجلد كما كان يحدث في السابق، موضحًا أن مشكلة الدوالي يعاني منها كثير من المراجعين بالعيادات الخارجية لقسم الأوعية الدموية، وتصل نسبتهم لأكثر من 75% ولفت إلى أنه تم استقبال أكثر من 1474 مراجعًا خلال شهر سبتمبر الماضي فقط، في عيادات الأوعية الدموية، لافتًا إلى أن هذا العدد يشمل المرضى الذين تم استقبالهم وجهًا لوجه بالعيادات والذين بلغ عددهم 894 مراجعًا، بالإضافة إلى المرضى الذين تم توفير استشارات طبية لهم من خلال الاستشارات الهاتفية والذين بلغ عددهم 580 مراجعًا.

وأضاف: إن العيادات تستمر على مدار خمسة أيام من الأحد للخميس، وتشمل إجراء بعض التدخلات الطبية مثل حقن الدوالي وإجراء موجات صوتية أو غيار للجروح وغيرها، لافتًا إلى أن القسم بشكل عام يختص بثلاثة أمور أساسية وهي علاج الشرايين ومشاكلها وعلاج الأوردة والدوالي وما يتعلق بها، وعلاج خلل الأوعية الليمفاوية. وأضاف: إن قسم الأوعية الدموية يقوم بإجراء عمليات جراحية بشكل يومي من خلال غرفة عمليات مخصصة لذلك بالإضافة إلى إجراء عمليات 3 مرات أسبوعيًا بالمركز الوطني لعلاج وأبحاث السرطان وذلك لتركيب القسطرة الخاصة للمرضى المصابين بالسرطان الذين يحتاجون للعلاج الكيماوي. وأوضح أن أبرز الشكاوى المرضية بين المراجعين هي الدوالي حيث تزيد نسبة انتشارها بينهم لأكثر من ثلاثة أرباع المرضى، موضحًا أن علاجها يشمل العلاجات التحفظية والدوائية وحقن الدوالي بالإضافة للعلاج بالليزر، فضلًا عن أمراض القدم السكرى ونقص تروية القدمين أي نقص الدم بهما بالإضافة لأمراض الشرايين.
