Doha: The Peninsula said that Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) and its allied healthcare facilities have become a center of excellence in the region by providing best available services to patients as country’s healthcare system progresses keeping pace with global developments in science and technology.
In its editorial on Saturday, the paper pointed out that owing to the adoption of these latest medical technologies, Qatar’s healthcare infrastructure and services are also recognized in the world in various prestigious rankings.
According to a latest report, a new optimized model of managing operating theatres across the Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) has made a positive impact and helping in provision of timely services.
All operating theatres are looked in as one body through Corporate Perioperative Committee and Operating Theatres, and it makes a balance between theatres, manpower and equipment across HMC.
Only HMC’s Oral and Cranio-Maxillofacial Surgery Department conducts around 600 surgeries each year on patients with advanced diseases and disorders of the head and neck, with around 30 percent of these cases involving the removal of tumors.
The paper added that around 50 operation theatres are at hospitals in and around Doha with advanced facilities and also expansions continue due to the increasing demand.
Few weeks ago the first successful lung transplant in Qatar also showed the excellence of the country’s healthcare system and infrastructure. The successful transplant had consolidated Qatar’s position in world nations providing best medical care to people. It is pertinent to mention here that Qatar’s organ transplant program offers kidney, liver and now lung transplant surgeries making HMC one of the most comprehensive transplant centers in the region. Due to constant investment and timely designed strategies by the government, Qatar’s healthcare system had been ranked the best in the region in January this year. Qatar had been ranked among top 20 countries in Numbeo Healthcare Index by Country 2021, scoring 73 points. .
It added that a total of 10,587 surgeries were performed in different specialties at Hamad General Hospital (HGH) during the first six months of 2021 and the number might significantly increase in the second half.
The General Surgery Department deals with common surgeries including surgery of the pancreas, liver, colon, stomach and gallbladder, among others. One of the new operating theatres also features the latest high-tech robotic surgery apparatus – the da Vinci Xi surgical robot, which surgeons use to perform a variety of specialist and general surgeries.

وقالت الصحيفة في افتتاحيتها بعنوان /خدمات طبية على أعلى مستوى/، إن المؤسسة تعتمد على التقنيات الطبية الحديثة مدعومة ببنية تحتية على أعلى مستوى.. مشيرة إلى نموذج محسن جديد لإدارة غرف العمليات في مؤسسة حمد الطبية أحدث تأثيرًا إيجابيًا وساعد في توفير الخدمات في الوقت المناسب، حيث يتم النظر إلى جميع غرف العمليات كجسم واحد من خلال اللجنة المحيطة بالعمليات المشتركة وغرف العمليات، وهي تحقق التوازن بين غرف العمليات والقوى العاملة والمعدات في مؤسسة حمد الطبية.
ونوهت إلى أن قسم جراحة الفم والوجه والفكين التابع لمؤسسة حمد الطبية يُجري حوالي 600 عملية جراحية سنويًا للمرضى الذين يعانون من أمراض واضطرابات متقدمة في الرأس والرقبة، ويتعلق حوالي 30 بالمائة من هذه الحالات باستئصال الأورام.
وأشارت الصحيفة إلى أن نجاح أول عملية زرع رئة في قطر قبل عدة أسابيع أكد تميز نظام الرعاية الصحية والبنية التحتية في البلاد، حيث عززت عملية الزرع الناجحة مكانة قطر في دول العالم التي تقدم أفضل رعاية طبية صحية.. كما أن برنامج زراعة الأعضاء في قطر يقدم عمليات جراحية لزراعة الكلى والكبد والرئة مما يجعل مؤسسة حمد الطبية واحدة من أكثر مراكز زراعة الأعضاء شمولاً في المنطقة.
وقالت /البننسولا/ انه بسبب الاستثمار المستمر والاستراتيجيات المناسبة من قبل الحكومة الموقرة تم تصنيف نظام الرعاية الصحية في قطر كأفضل نظام في المنطقة في يناير من هذا العام.. كما صُنفت قطر ضمن أفضل 20 دولة في مؤشر نومبيو للرعاية الصحية حسب الدولة 2021 ، مسجلة 73 نقطة.
ونوهت الصحيفة الى انه تم إجراء 10587 عملية جراحية في تخصصات مختلفة في مستشفى حمد العام خلال الأشهر الستة الأولى من عام 2021 وقد يرتفع العدد بشكل كبير في النصف الثاني من العام، حيث يتعامل قسم الجراحة العامة مع العمليات الجراحية الشائعة بما في ذلك جراحة البنكرياس والكبد والقولون والمعدة والمرارة وغيرها. وتتميز غرف العمليات الجديدة أيضًا بأحدث أجهزة الجراحة الروبوتية عالية التقنية “الروبوت الجراحي دافنشي شي”، والذي يستخدمه الجراحون لإجراء مجموعة متنوعة من العمليات الجراحية المتخصصة والعامة.
