Oman Announces End of Direct Impacts of Cyclone Shaheen

Muscat: The National Multi Hazard Early Warning System (NMHEWS) in the Sultanate of Oman announced the end of direct impacts of the Tropical Cyclone Shaheen.
Predictions charts indicate that the low pressure system is centered southwest Governorate of A’Dhahira, near the border of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It is expected that the low pressure gradually dissipates, while the sea continues with medium waves on all the coasts of the Sultanate and reaches a maximum height of two meters, the center said in a statement carried by the Oman News Agency on Monday.
For its part, the Omani Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) said that the statement of the end of the direct effects of the tropical situation came after the weakening of the situation and its transformation into a tropical depression that is currently centered in the south of A’Dhahira and is entering the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia at the present time, alerting to the continuation of scattered thunderstorms over Al Hajar Mountains and the neighboring areas with continued flow valleys.
The CAA urges everyone to exercise caution, avoid risk of crossing wadis and staying away from low laying areas.
Traffic at a number of the Sultanate’s ports has also returned and maritime operations at Sohar Port have resumed normally from dawn on Monday morning after the climatic effects of Tropical Cyclone Shaheen faded.

مسقط: أعلن المركز الوطني للإنذار المُبكر من المخاطر المتعددة في سلطنة عمان، عن انتهاء التأثيرات المباشرة للحالة المدارية /شاهين/.
وقال المركز في بيان نقلته وكالة الأنباء العمانية اليوم، إن خرائط التنبؤات تظهر حاليا تمركز المنخفض الجوي جنوب غرب محافظة الظاهرة بالقرب من حدود المملكة العربية السعودية وتلاشيه تدريجيا فيما يستمر البحر متوسط الموج على جميع سواحل السلطنة ويصل أقصى ارتفاع له مترين.
من جهتها أفادت هيئة الطيران المدني العمانية بأن بيان انتهاء التأثيرات المباشرة للحالة المدارية جاء بعد ضعف الحالة وتحولها إلى منخفض مداري يتمركز حاليا في جنوب الظاهرة ويدخل المملكة العربية السعودية في الوقت الحالي، منبهة إلى استمرار هطول أمطار رعدية متفرقة على جبال الحجر والمناطق المجاورة مع استمرار جريان الأودية.
ودعت الجميع إلى ضرورة أخذ الحيطة والحذر وعدم المجازفة بعبور الأودية والابتعاد عن الأماكن المنخفضة.
كما عادت حركة الملاحة في عدد من موانئ السلطنة واستئناف العمليات البحرية في ميناء صحار بشكل طبيعي ابتداء من فجر اليوم بعد تلاشي الآثار المناخية المترتبة عن إعصار شاهين.
