Registration for “Khatwa” Program Starts Today

Doha: Qatar Development Bank (QDB) and the General Retirement and Social Security Authority announced the opening of registration for the sixth edition of the “Khatwa” qualification program to build and develop the capabilities and skills of retirees and help them take the first step in the journey of establishing their businesses and small and medium enterprises.

The Registration for the program will start on Oct. 4. The program will be held from Oct. 24 to Nov. 10 and its activities will start via videoconferencing, as it includes special advisory sessions for the participants to determine their project ideas and the type of support provided to them to provide the best possible tools that invest their expertise practically and scientifically.

Participants will learn about many aspects of knowledge in entrepreneurship, including getting to know the concept of entrepreneurship, establishing small companies, choosing an appropriate project idea, and acquiring basic skills for managing small and medium enterprises, including strategic planning, marketing, management, and financial control, business planning, and feasibility study. Including the preparation of a small feasibility study for the project, which is an approach applied in many other similar training programs of the Bank.

The “Khatwa” program aims to train, develop and qualify retirees as a vital and effective part of the entrepreneurship system in the State of Qatar, in coordination between the Qatar Development Bank, which handles the training and counseling aspect, and the General Authority for Retirement and Social Security and its societal responsibilities that seek to promote social, economic and human development initiatives, and strengthening institutional communication in line with the countrys development policies and Qatar Vision 2030.

In this regard, Executive Director of the Advisory Services Department at Qatar Development Bank Ibrahim Al Mannai stressed the importance of this program as part of the Qatar Development Banks strategy to support entrepreneurs and enhance the entrepreneurial work environment in the State of Qatar, pointing to the Banks interest in all segments of society from Entrepreneurs “Just as the Bank cares for the youth and stimulates the spirit of creativity and innovation in them, it also focuses on the experienced and distinguished retirees.”

In turn, Director of Public Relations and Communication at the General Retirement and Social Security Authority Mohammed Abdullah Al Malki praised the partnership and cooperation with Qatar Development Bank to launch the sixth version of the “Khatwa” initiative, which seeks to provide the necessary training and qualification to enable retirees from the world of entrepreneurship, noting that this step is a qualitative addition in the Authority’s efforts to enhance the capabilities of retirees and motivate them to enter the world of entrepreneurship, by supporting their small and medium enterprises.

He pointed out that the interest of retirees to establish small and medium enterprises contributes to supporting economic and social development, which enhances efforts to achieve Qatar National Vision 2030.

Although the “Khatwa” program is a qualifying educational program and not a financing program, Qatar Development Bank offers incentive financial grants based on merit and excellence criteria that are presented to the best three feasibility studies for projects at the end of the course, and the value of the grants is estimated at QR100,000. 50,000 of them are provided in cash, and 50,000 in the form of various consulting services, to help the trainees establish their projects and prepare the feasibility study in a more integrated manner.

The “Khatwa” Program, which was launched in 2014, is a community initiative aimed at building and developing the capabilities and skills of retirees, encouraging them to establish their businesses and small and medium enterprises, and transforming their ideas into successful projects. The number of its beneficiaries has reached nearly 160 retirees as the sum of the previous versions over the past five years, which enabled many of this segment to play an active role serving a number of vital sectors of the national economy.

الدوحة: أعلن بنك قطر للتنمية والهيئة العامة للتقاعد والتأمينات الاجتماعية عن فتح باب التسجيل في النسخة السادسة من برنامج /خطوة/ التأهيلي لبناء وتطوير قدرات ومهارات المتقاعدين ومساعدتهم على أخذ الخطوة الأولى في رحلة تأسيس أعمالهم ومشاريعهم الصغيرة والمتوسطة.

ويعقد البرنامج خلال الفترة من 24 أكتوبر الجاري حتى 10 نوفمبر المقبل، وتبدأ فعالياته عبر تقنية الاتصال المرئي، حيث تتضمن جلسات استشارية خاصة للمشاركين لتحديد أفكار مشاريعهم ونوع الدعم المقدم لهم لتوفير أفضل الأدوات الممكنة التي تستثمر خبراتهم بشكل عملي وعلمي.

وسيتعرف المشاركون على العديد من الجوانب المعرفية في ريادة الأعمال منها التعرف على مفهوم ريادة الأعمال، وإنشاء الشركات الصغيرة، واختيار فكرة مشروع مناسبة، واكتساب المهارات الأساسية لإدارة المنشآت الصغيرة والمتوسطة بما في ذلك التخطيط الاستراتيجي، والتسويق، والإدارة والرقابة المالية، وتخطيط الأعمال، ودراسة الجدوى ومنها إعداد دراسة جدوى مُصغرة للمشروع وهو منهج مُطبق في العديد من برامج البنك التدريبية الأخرى الشبيهة.

ويهدف برنامج /خطوة/ إلى تدريب وتطوير المتقاعدين وتأهيلهم كجزء حيوي وفعال في منظومة ريادة الأعمال في دولة قطر بالتنسيق بين بنك قطر للتنمية الذي يتولى الجانب التدريبي والإرشادي، والهيئة العامة للتقاعد والتأمينات الاجتماعية ومسؤولياتها المجتمعية التي تسعى إلى تعزيز مبادرات التنمية الاجتماعية والاقتصادية والبشرية، وتعزيز التواصل المؤسسي بما يتوافق مع سياسات الدولة التنموية ورؤية قطر 2030.

وفي هذا الصدد أكد السيد ابراهيم عبد العزيز المناعي المدير التنفيذي لإدارة الخدمات الاستشارية في بنك قطر للتنمية، على أهمية هذا البرنامج كجزء من استراتيجية بنك قطر للتنمية في دعم رواد الأعمال وتعزيز منظومة بيئة العمل الريادي في دولة قطر ، لافتا إلى اهتمام البنك بجميع فئات المجتمع من رواد الأعمال “فكما يهتم بالشباب ويحفز فيهم روح الإبداع والابتكار، يركز كذلك على أصحاب الخبرات وذوي الفضل من المتقاعدين”.

بدوره أشاد السيد محمد عبدالله المالكي مدير إدارة العلاقات العامة والاتصال بالهيئة العامة للتقاعد والتأمينات الاجتماعية بالشراكة والتعاون مع بنك قطر للتنمية، لإطلاق النسخة السادسة من مبادرة خطوة، التي تسعى لتوفير التدريب والتأهيل اللازم لتمكين المتقاعدين من عالم ريادة الأعمال منبها إلى أن هذه الخطوة تعد إضافة نوعية في جهود الهيئة لتعزيز قدرات المتقاعدين وتحفيزهم للدخول إلى عالم ريادة الأعمال، عبر دعم مشاريعهم الصغيرة والمتوسطة.

وأشار إلى أن إقبال المتقاعدين على تأسيس المشاريع الصغيرة والمتوسطة يساهم في دعم التنمية الاقتصادية والاجتماعية مما يعزز الجهود لتحقيق رؤية قطر 2030.

وبالرغم من كون برنامج خطوة برنامجا تعليميا تأهيليا وليس برنامجًا تمويليا إلا أن بنك قطر للتنمية يقدم منحا مالية تشجيعية قائمة على معايير الجدارة والتميز تقدم لأفضل 3 دراسات جدوى للمشاريع في نهاية الدورة وتقدر قيمة المنح بحوالي 100 ألف ريال قطري،/ 50 ألفا منها تُقدم نقديًا، و50 ألفا على شكل خدمات استشارية متنوعة/، وذلك لمساعدة المتدربين على تأسيس مشروعاتهم وإعداد دراسة الجدوى بصورة أكثر تكاملا.

يذكر أن برنامج خطوة الذي انطلق بنسخته الأولى عام 2014، مبادرة مجتمعية تهدف إلى بناء وتطوير قدرات ومهارات المتقاعدين وتشجيعهم على تأسيس أعمالهم ومشاريعهم الصغيرة والمتوسطة، وتحويل أفكارهم إلى مشاريع ناجحة، وقد بلغ عدد المستفيدين منه قرابة 160 متقاعدا كمجموع النسخ السابقة على مدار الخمس سنوات الماضية، مما مكن العديد من هذه الشريحة بالقيام بدور فاعل يخدم عدد من القطاعات الحيوية للاقتصاد الوطني.
