Ministry of Endowments Opens Autism Society Headquarters

Doha: The Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs inaugurated the headquarters of the Qatar Autism Society, with the support of the Waqf Bank for Healthcare, the Waqf bank for scientific and cultural development; and Waqf bank for family and child welfare.

The General Administration of Endowments has allocated a building in the Qatifiyah area for the benefit of the Qatar Autism Society, in implementation of the conditions of endowers, Qatar National Vision 2030, the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, and the keenness of the State of Qatar to enable citizens and residents with disabilities participate effectively in social and public life.

The General Administration of Endowments aims through this strategic partnership to contribute to integrating young men and girls with autism and their families into the Qatari society, empowering them and providing them with an appropriate environment that provides them with all means of care, education, rehabilitation programs and purposeful activities, in order to develop their abilities and creativity.

The provision of the Qatar Autism Society with this building comes from three endowment banks, the waqf bank for scientific and cultural development, given that science is the basis for building the individual and the advancement of society, and the waqf t bank for family and childhood care, since the family is the first building block of society, and that the child is the cornerstone for the advancement and progress of the nation, and the waqf bank for health care as advanced health care is the yardstick for people’s development and growth.

The Qatar Autism Society offers many programs at its headquarters, including vocational rehabilitation for adults, educational workshops, daily life skills, and fitness classes.

Sheikh Dr. Khalid bin Mohammed bin Ghanem Al-Thani, Director General of the General Department of Endowments at the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs, said that the headquarters of the Qatari Society provides services to all segments of the autism spectrum, pointing out that the headquarters will host activities and courses for male and female students with autism.

For his part, Mohammed Yaqoub Al Ali, Director of the Endowment Banks Department at the Ministry of Endowments confirmed that the headquarters of the Qatar Autism Society indicates that the results of the strategic partnership between the General Administration of Endowments and the Qatar Autism Society, and that this support is in the service of an important segment of society, namely, autism spectrum disorder patients.

Meanwhile Saad Mohammed Ali Al Ghanim, Vice President of the Qatar Autism Society, said that the headquarters is the result of community partnership, explaining that the association was established in 2017 as a fruit of the efforts of the former mother association, which is the first and only platform that represents children with autism and their families.

الدوحة: افتتحت وزارة الأوقاف والشؤون الإسلامية مقر الجمعية القطرية للتوحد، وذلك بدعم من المصرف الوقفي للرعاية الصحية، والمصرف الوقفي للتنمية العلمية والثقافية، والمصرف الوقفي لرعاية الأسرة والطفولة.

وخصصت الإدارة العامة للأوقاف مبنى بمنطقة /القطيفية/ لصالح الجمعية القطرية للتوحد، تنفيذا لشروط الواقفين، وتطبيقا لرؤية قطر الوطنية 2030، والاتفاقية الدولية لحقوق الأشخاص ذوي الإعاقة، وحرصا من دولة قطر على تمكين ذوي الإعاقة من المواطنين والمقيمين في المشاركة بفاعلية في الحياة الاجتماعية والعامة.

وتهدف الإدارة العامة للأوقاف من هذه الشراكة الاستراتيجية المساهمة في دعم ودمج وتمكين الشباب والفتيات المصابين بطيف التوحد وأسرهم في المجتمع القطري، وتوفير بيئة مناسبة توفر لهم كافة سبل الرعاية والتعليم والبرامج التأهيلية والنشاطات الهادفة، بغية تطوير قدراتهم وإبداعاتهم.

ويأتي دعم الجمعية القطرية للتوحد بهذا المبنى من ثلاثة مصارف وقفية، المصرف الوقفي للتنمية العلمية والثقافية، باعتبار أن العلم أساس بناء الفرد ورقي المجتمع، والمصرف الوقفي لرعاية الأسرة والطفولة، كون الأسرة لبنة المجتمع الأولى، وأن الطفل هو حجر الأساس لنهوض الأمة وتقدمها، والمصرف الوقفي للرعاية الصحية، حيث يعد رقي الخدمات الصحية في المجتمعات معيار تطورها ونمائها.

وتقدم الجمعية القطرية للتوحد في المقر العديد من البرامج، من ضمنها التأهيل المهني للكبار، وورشات تعليمية، والمهارات الحياتية اليومية، وحصص اللياقة البدنية.

وقال الشيخ الدكتور خالد بن محمد بن غانم آل ثاني المدير العام للإدارة العامة للأوقاف بوزارة الأوقاف والشؤون الإسلامية، إن مقر الجمعية القطرية يقدم خدمات لجميع شرائح طيف التوحد، لافتا إلى أن المقر سيستضيف انشطة ودورات للطلاب والطالبات المصابين بطيف التوحد.

وأكد السيد محمد يعقوب العلي مدير إدارة المصارف الوقفية بوزارة الأوقاف أن مقر الجمعية القطرية للتوحد يدل على نتائج الشراكة الاستراتيجية بين الإدارة العامة للأوقاف والجمعية القطرية للتوحد، وأن هذا الدعم يكون في خدمة شريحة مهمة من شرائح المجتمع ألا وهي مرضى اضطراب طيف التوحد، وتقديم العون للجمعية القطرية للتوحد للقيام بدورها في خدمتهم ورعايتهم والحفاظ على حقوقهم.

ومن ناحيته، قال السيد سعد محمد علي الغانم نائب رئيس الجمعية القطرية للتوحد، إن المقر يأتي ثمرة الشراكة المجتمعية، وتم تأسيس الجمعية عام 2017 كثمرة لجهود رابطة الأمهات سابقا، والتي هي المنصة الأولى والوحيدة التي تمثل أبناءنا من ذوي اضطراب طيف التوحد وعائلاتهم.

يذكر أن افتتاح المقر يأتي ضمن الشراكة المجتمعية في إطار تنفيذ شروط الواقفين بالمصارف الوقفية، وتطبيقا لرؤية قطر الوطنية 2030، والاتفاقية الدولية لحقوق الأشخاص ذوي الإعاقة، وحرصا على تمكين ذوي الإعاقة من المواطنين والمقيمين في المشاركة بفاعلية في الحياة الاجتماعية والعامة، من خلال توفير بيئة مناسبة توفر لهم كافة سبل الرعاية والتعليم والبرامج التأهيلية والنشاطات الهادفة، بغية تطوير قدراتهم وإبداعاتهم.
