Deal Signed to Build Electric Chargers Factory

Doha: The Public Works Authority Ashghal signed a Memorandum of Understanding with ABB, in preparation for the establishment of a factory to produce electric chargers for electric cars and buses. This would be the first factory for ABB E-mobility in the middle east region.
It is worth noting that the signing of the MoU accompanies an electric charging device supplying contract for electric buses, as part of the Ministry of Transport and Communications strategy to switch to electric vehicles.
The memorandum includes providing the necessary training for the relevant cadres and students, in order to qualify them to manage and operate the new electric chargers factory. While also providing workers with the required expertise and information.
On this occasion, Public Projects Section Head in Building Projects Department Eng. Abdulhakim Al Hashimi, confirmed that Ashghal will be responsible of following up the factory establishment process.
President of ABBs E-mobility division Frank Muehlon said: “As part of ABBs 2030 sustainability strategy, we are focused on helping fleets to unlock the potential of e-mobility with state of the art and intelligent charging solutions. As the world moves towards green bus fleets, our solutions are at the leading edge to help cities and regions around the world discover the value of electrification and how it can help us all transition to cleaner and greener transport solutions.”
It is worth noting that the establishment of this factory will strengthen and support the public transportation plan in Qatar. As the Public Works Authority Ashghal, in cooperation with Mowasalat Company KARWA, is establishing bus stations and warehouses with the highest technological and environmental standards. These stations are among the largest electric charging stations for buses in the world, which supports the countrys future vision to protect the environment within the Qatar National Vision 2030.
Ashghal will install 653 electric chargers and 713 inverters in 41 charging sites under construction for the Public Bus Infrastructure Program to serve the fleet of electric buses to operate according to the plan set by Ministry of Transport and Communication. In addition, Ashghal will build various electrical charging points inside and outside Doha and provide all electrical utilities and other necessary infrastructure to connect chargers with electrical transformers and various power stations.

الدوحة: وقعت هيئة الاشغال العامة “أشغال” مذكرة تفاهم مع شركة ABB السويسرية، بالتنسيق مع هيئة المناطق الحرة، لإنشاء مصنع أجهزة الشحن الكهربائي للسيارات والحافلات الكهربائية، ليصبح أول مصنع من نوعه لشركة ABB في مجال النقل الكهربائي بمنطقة الشرق الأوسط.
وجاء توقيع المذكرة مصاحباً لعقد توريد أجهزة الشحن الكهربائي للحافلات الكهربائية وكجزء من استراتيجية وزارة المواصلات والاتصالات الخاصة بالتحول للمركبات الكهربائية.
وتنص المذكرة على توفير التدريب اللازم للكوادر والطلاب المعنيين وتأهيلهم لإدارة وتشغيل مصنع أجهزة الشحن الكهربي الجديد، وتزويد العاملين بالخبرات والمعلومات المطلوبة.
وبهذه المناسبة، أكد المهندس عبدالحكيم الهاشمي، من إدارة مشروعات المباني في “أشغال”، أن الهيئة ستكون معنية بمتابعة خطوات إنشاء المصنع بالتعاون مع هيئة المناطق الحرة لخدمة المركبات الكهربائية ليتكامل مع ما قامت به “أشغال” في مجال توفير البنية التحتية الخاصة بالحافلات الكهربية وتوفير أجهزة الشحن الكهربية.
بدوره، قال السيد فرانك مولون، مدير عام قسم النقل الكهربائي في ABB: “كجزء من استراتيجية الاستدامة لعام 2030 لشركة ABB، نعمل على المساعدة في إطلاق إمكانات التنقل الكهربائي باستخدام أحدث الحلول وحلول الشحن الذكية”.
وأضاف: بينما يتجه العالم نحو استخدام الحافلات الخضراء، تأتي حلولنا في المقدمة لمساعدة المدن والمناطق في جميع أنحاء العالم على اكتشاف قيمة التحول إلى الطاقة الكهربية وكيف يمكن أن يساعدنا استخدامها في الانتقال إلى حلول نقل نظيفة وخضراء بشكل أفضل.
وتلعب هيئة المناطق الحرة دوراً حيوياً في التواصل والتفاعل مع أصحاب المصلحة لتوفير فرص النمو الواعد للمستثمرين، لاسيما وأنها تمتلك الأرض التي من المتوقع إنشاء مصنع أجهزة الشحن الكهربية عليها.
وستسهم إقامة المصنع في تعزيز ودعم خطة النقل العام في الدولة، إلى جانب ما تقوم به هيئة الاشغال العامة بالتعاون مع شركة مواصلات “كروة” من إنشاء محطات ومستودعات للباصات بأعلى المعايير التكنولوجية والبيئية، وتندرج هذه المحطات ضمن أكبر محطات الشحن الكهربائي للباصات عالميا، ما يدعم خطة الدولة والرؤية المستقبلية على دعم البيئة ضمن رؤية دولة قطر لسنة 2030.
وتقوم هيئة الأشغال العامة “أشغال” بتركيب 653 جهاز شحن و 713 محولاً كهربياً في نحو 41 موقع شحن كهربائي ضمن برنامج البنية التحتية لحافلات النقل العام لخدمة أسطول الحافلات الكهربائية التي سيتم تشغيلها وفقاً لخطة وزارة المواصلات والاتصالات.
كما تقوم “أشغال” بإنشاء نقاط الشحن الكهربية المختلفة داخل الدوحة وخارجها وتوفير التمديدات الكهربائية والبنية التحتية اللازمة لربط أجهزة الشحن بالمحولات الكهربية ومحطات الكهرباء المختلفة.
