New (500)RED EV on display at Culture Pass Club

Doha: IN-Q Enterprises WLL, the commercial arm of Qatar Museums, announced the exhibition of the new electric vehicle (EV), the New (500)RED, in IN-Q stores. The (500)RED was unveiled yesterday at Qatar’s Culture Pass Club, Qatar’s first members-only arts club located in Msheireb Downtown Doha — the heart of Doha’s design district and home of M7, Qatar’s new creative hub for innovation, fashion, and design. 

The initiative is the latest demonstration of Qatar Museums and its Chairperson H E Sheikha Al Mayassa bint Hamad Al Thani’s commitment to sustainability, protecting the environment, and public health for all. 

The New  (500)RED is the first (RED) car globally, launched yesterday in Turin, Italy, and created to protect the planet and its people, is displayed in Doha. The Turin unveiling coincided with the global announcement of a new partnership between Fiat, JEEP, RAM, and (RED), with a minimum commitment of $4m to support the work of the Global Fund.

(RED) – founded by Bono and Bobby Shriver – has generated nearly $700m to date through partnerships with companies including Apple, Amazon, Beats by Dre, Louis Vuitton, NetJets, and Starbucks. 

Doha is among the first locations in the world where the public can see the new electric automobile, which is on view to the public in the Culture Pass Club’s Garden Oasis from 9am to 7pm, Sunday through Thursday. In addition, vehicles are available for order at IN-Q gift shops in Doha. QM’s Culture Pass members will have the opportunity to purchase the New (500)RED for delivery in Europe. Sheikha Al Mayassa stated: “It is incredibly meaningful that Culture Pass Club in Doha is one of the first places in the world where people can see the New (500)RED and be inspired by the innovation, design, and public spirit that led to its creation. These are the same principles that guide us in all that we do at Qatar Museums, along with environmental stewardship, education, public health, and sustainability.” 

“It is vital that Qatar be at the forefront of these issues not only in the region but globally as well.” 

Also, recent initiatives highlighting Sheikha Al Mayassa and Qatar Museum’s commitment to environmental stewardship and sustainability include serving as the main partner of the 2021 Ro Plastic Prize presented during Milan Design Week in September 2021. 

Part of RoGUILTLESSPLASTIC, the international initiative founded and curated by Milanese designer Rossana Orlandi, the prize aims to unite the design community to use plastic waste to develop the future of design: plastic re-using, recycling, and upcycling. 

Sheikha Al Mayassa served as honorary president of the prize’s international jury. The theme of this year’s prize is “Save the waste, waste is value,” and awards were given in three categories: urban and public furniture design, responsible innovation projects, and emotion on communication.

Winners of each category received 10,000 euros to develop and refine their projects, and they each will be exhibited in Qatar as part of the Museum’s expanding commitment to sustainable programming. 

A commitment to sustainability and environmental education is integral to the work of Qatar Museums. Permanent exhibitions at the National Museum of Qatar offer dramatic and immersive introductions to the natural history of the Qatar peninsula and how culture, heritage, and society have been shaped by human interaction with the natural world.

يأتي ذلك، في سياق إعلان شركة /إن-كيو إنتربرايزيس/ الذراع التجارية لمتاحف قطر عن عرض السيارة الكهربائية الجديدة فيات (500)RED في متاجر إن-كيو.

وقالت سعادة الشيخة المياسة بنت حمد آل ثاني رئيس مجلس أمناء متاحف قطر في تصريح اليوم: “إنه لمن المدهش أن يكون نادي بطاقتك إلى الثقافة في الدوحة أحد الأماكن الأولى في العالم التي يمكن فيها للناس مشاهدة السيارة (500)RED الجديدة والاستلهام من الابتكار والتصميم والروح العامة التي أدت إلى تصنيعها، هذه هي نفس المبادئ التي ترشدنا في كل ما نقوم به في متاحف قطر، إلى جانب الرعاية البيئية والتعليم والصحة العامة والاستدامة، فمن الضروري أن تكون دولة قطر في طليعة مثل هذه المبادرات، ليس فقط في المنطقة، ولكن على الصعيد العالمي أيضا”.

وتم الكشف عن السيارة في نادي بطاقتك إلى الثقافة، وهو أول ناد فني قطري مخصص للأعضاء فقط، يقع في مشيرب قلب الدوحة – قلب حي التصميم في الدوحة، ومقر M7، المركز الإبداعي الجديد للابتكار والأزياء والتصميم في دولة قطر.

وكان قد تم الكشف عن هذه السيارة في مدينة تورينو بإيطاليا، والتي صنعت لحماية الكوكب وسكانه، ويتزامن عرضها في الدوحة مع الإطلاق العالمي لشراكة جديدة بين فيات للسيارات وشركات أخرى.

وجمعت (RED) التي أسسها كل من بونو وبوبي شرايفر – ما يقرب من 700 مليون دولار حتى الآن من خلال شراكات مع شركات رائدة.

وتعد الدوحة من بين المواقع الأولى في العالم التي سيتمكن فيها الجمهور من رؤية السيارة الكهربائية الجديدة.
