Ashghal opens new 1-kilometre tunnel
«أشغال» تفتتح نفقاً جديداً بتقاطع غرافة الريان لتخفيف الزحام
Doha: Ashghal opened a 1-kilometer long uni-directional tunnel with one lane at Gharrafat Al Rayyan Interchange along Al Luqta Street.
The new tunnel which forms part of Ashghal’s Khalifa Avenue project delivers direct free-flow connectivity from Gharrafat Al Rayyan to Doha.
The project engineer, Abdulla Qasim, said that the tunnel can accommodate upto 2,000 vehicles per hour and it will alleviate traffic congestion at Gharrafat Al Rayyan Interchange, for those who are travelling from Gharrafat Al Rayyan to Doha.
Road users will benefit from travel time reduction of up to 30% on their commute from Gharrafat Al Rayyan to Doha.
Al Luqta Street
Ashghal recently opened a 3-kilometre stretch of the main carriageway providing four lanes in each direction along Al Luqta Street spanning from west of Tilted Intersection until after Gharrfat Al Rayyan Interchange after completing the last layer of asphalting.
In addition to the main carriageway, approximately 3 kilometres of parallel service roads with two lanes in each direction, were delivered providing connectivity to key stakeholders like Qatar Foundation, Sidra Medical and Research Centre and Qatar National Convention Centre.
To date, Ashghal has completed 75% of construction works on Dukhan Highway East project, which is scheduled to be completed in Q3 2020.
On completion, the project will deliver approximately 11.6 km of dual carriageway with four lanes in each direction replacing a three-lane way besides seven major free-flowing interchanges, service roads, and auxiliary lanes along sections of the road and cycle, pedestrian and camel lane which will be on the South side of Al luqta Street.
Bani Hajer Interchange
During 2018, the Public Works Authority opened important sections of Khalifa Avenue Project, where it opened a 3-kilometre road as well as significant sections of the three-level Bani Hajer interchange. The complex interchange which replaced the previous roundabout accommodates approximately 1,500 vehicles per hour and provides free-flow traffic movements and is a key access to Dukhan Road, Al Luqta Street and Al Rayyan Road, as well as for the populated areas around it such as Bani Hajer, Al Rayyan, Gharrafat Al Rayyan and Al Gharrafa.
The interchange is comprised of two bridges, two underpasses, three ramps (right turn exits) and two loops to provide connectivity in all directions. Upon completion, the interchange will boast a unique 300-meter camel bridge, the first of its kind in Qatar, along with cycle and pedestrian lanes.
افتتحت هيئة الأشغال العامة «أشغال» نفقاً بطول ما يقارب كيلومتر واحد بتقاطع غرافة الريان، ضمن أعمال مشروع «خليفة أفينيو»، والذي يوفر حركة مرورية حرة من غرافة الريان إلى الدوحة. يتكون النفق الجديد من مسار واحد باتجاه الدوحة، ليربط بين شارع غرافة الريان وشارع اللقطة.
أكد عبدالله قاسم -مهندس المشروع- أن النفق الجديد يعمل على تخفيف الازدحام المروري بتقاطع غرافة الريان أمام القادمين من غرافة الريان في اتجاه الدوحة؛ حيث تصل القدرة الاستيعابية للنفق الجديد إلى نحو 2000 مركبة في الساعة، ليقلل زمن التنقل بنحو 30 %، لافتاً إلى أنه كان يتعين على رواد الطريق استخدام دوار تقاطع الغرافة حيث توجد إشارات ضوئية، بينما يوفر النفق الجديد تدفقاً مرورياً حراً.
كما انتهت هيئة الأشغال العامة مؤخراً من الأعمال النهائية للإسفلت بطول 3 كيلومترات من شارع اللقطة الرئيسي، المكون من 4 مسارات في كل اتجاه من غرب تقاطع المائل إلى غرب تقاطع غرافة الريان.
ويأتي ذلك مع افتتاح طرق الخدمات الموازية، والتي تتألف من مسارين في كل اتجاه، وتربط بعض المرافق المهمة، مثل مؤسسة قطر ومركز سدرة للطب والبحوث ومركز قطر الوطني للمؤتمرات.
جدير بالذكر أن «أشغال» أنجزت نحو 75 % من أعمال مشروع خليفة أفنيو الذي من المقرر أن يكتمل بحلول الربع الثالث من عام 2020. وسيوفر المشروع عند اكتماله ما يقارب 11.6 كم من المسار المزدوج مع 4 مسارات في كل اتجاه، إلى جانب 7 تقاطعات متعددة المستويات بتدفق حر وطرق خدمية على طول أجزاء من الطريق، بالإضافة إلى ممرات للمشاة وراكبي الدراجات الهوائية وممر للجمال في الجزء الجنوبي من شارع اللقطة.
افتتاح أجزاء كبيرة من تقاطع بني هاجر
خلال عام 2018، افتتحت هيئة الأشغال العامة أجزاء عديدة ومهمة من مشروع خليفة أفنيو؛ حيث افتتحت طريقاً بطول 3 كيلومتر. كما افتتحت أجزاء كبيرة من تقاطع بني هاجر الحيوي، والذي يتألف من 3 مستويات.
ويعمل هذا التقاطع الذي حلّ مكان الدوار سابقاً على استيعاب ما يقارب 1500 مركبة في الساعة، موفراً حركة مرورية انسيابية ليعمل باعتباره طريقاً رئيسياً وكحلقة وصل إلى طريق دخان وشارع اللقطة وشارع الريان، وكذلك للمناطق السكنية المجاورة مثل بني هاجر والريان وغرافة الريان والغرافة. يتألف التقاطع من جسرين ونفقين و3 مخارج على اليمين ومخرجين التفافيين لتوفير حلقة وصل لجميع الاتجاهات.
وعند الانتهاء، سوف يضم هذا التقاطع جسراً يحتوي على ممر للجمال بطول 300 متر، وهو الأول من نوعه في قطر، بالإضافة إلى مسارات للمشاة والدراجات الهوائية.
