The most prominent decisions of the weekly cabinet meeting

Doha: HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al-Thani chaired the Cabinet’s regular meeting held at its seat at the Amiri Diwan on Wednesday.

Following the meeting, HE Minister of Municipality and Environment and Acting Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Abdullah bin Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Subaei issued the following statement:

At the outset of the meeting, the cabinet was briefed by HE Minister of Public Health on the latest developments in efforts to curb the spread of COVID-19. The Cabinet affirmed the continuation of work with the procedures and precautionary measures that have been taken in order to combat this pandemic.

Then, the Cabinet considered the topics on the agenda as follows:

First: the Cabinet reviewed the annual report of the work of the National Traffic Safety Committee for 2020, and the proposals and recommendations it included, and took the appropriate decision in their regard.

Established at the Ministry of Interior, this committee is concerned with designing policies and plans in the field of traffic and working on developing it, studying traffic problems and proposing solution methods, coordinating and cooperating with the various bodies who help maintain good flow of traffic, and proposing the development of traffic related legislation, road engineering and transportation, in line with international standards and the requirements of the continuous development of roads and transportation.

Second: Approval of a draft decision by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, on regulating the granting of entry visas and residence permits to certain groups of people in the State of Qatar.

This draft resolution comes in accordance with the provisions of Law No. 21 of 2015 on regulating the entry and exit of expatriates and their residence, to replace Decision No. 4 of 2012.

Third: Approval of a draft memorandum of understanding for cooperation in the legal field between the Ministry of Justice in the State of Qatar and the Ministry of Justice in the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria.

Fourth: the Cabinet reviewed the following topics and took the appropriate decisions in their regard:

1- A report on the activities of the Qatar Financial Centre Regulatory Authority (QFCRA) for the period between April 1, 2020 to March 31,2021.

2- The results of the 60th meeting of the GCC Trade Cooperation Committee.

3- The results of the second meeting of the GCC Ministerial Committee for Standardization Affairs.

الدوحة: ترأس معالي الشيخ خالد بن خليفة بن عبدالعزيز آل ثاني، رئيس مجلس الوزراء ووزير الداخلية الاجتماع العادي الذي عقده المجلس يوم الأمس بمقره في الديوان الأميري.

وعقب الاجتماع أدلى سعادة الدكتور/ عبدالله بن عبدالعزيز بن تركي السبيعي، وزير البلدية والبيئة والقائم بأعمال وزير الدولة لشؤون مجلس الوزراء بما يلي:

في بداية الاجتماع استمع المجلس إلى الشرح الذي قدمه سعادة وزير الصحة العامة حول آخر المستجدات والتطورات للحد من انتشار فيروس كورونا (كوفيد – 19)، وأكد المجلس على استمرار العمل بما تم اتخاذه من إجراءات وتدابير احترازية في سبيل مكافحة هذا الوباء.

وبعد ذلك نظر مجلس الوزراء في الموضوعات المدرجة على جدول الأعمال على النحو التالي:

أولاً- اطلع مجلس الوزراء على التقرير السنوي لأعمال اللجنة الوطنية للسلامة المرورية لعام 2020، وما تضمنه من مقترحات وتوصيات، واتخذ بشأنه القرار المناسب.

وتختص هذه اللجنة المنشأة بوزارة الداخلية، بوضع السياسات والخطط في مجال المرور والعمل على تطويره، ودراسة مشكلات المرور واقتراح أساليب علاجها، والتنسيق والتعاون بين مختلف الجهات التي يؤثر عملها على حسن انتظام وسير المرور، واقتراح تطوير التشريعات المتعلقة بالمرور وهندسة الطرق والنقل، بما يتوافق والمعايير الدولية ويتناسب ومتطلبات التطور المستمر للطرق والمواصلات.

ثانياً- الموافقة على مشروع قرار نائب رئيس مجلس الوزراء وزير الخارجية بشأن تنظيم منح سمات الدخول وتراخيص الإقامة إلى بعض الفئات في دولة قطر.

ويأتي إعداد مشروع القرار، وفقاً لأحكام القانون رقم (21) لسنة 2015 بتنظيم دخول وخروج الوافدين وإقامتهم، وليحل محل القرار رقم (4) لسنة 2012.

ثالثاً- الموافقة على مشروع مذكرة تفاهم للتعاون في المجال القانوني بين وزارة العدل في دولة قطر ووزارة العدل في الجمهورية الجزائرية الديمقراطية الشعبية.

رابعاً- استعرض مجلس الوزراء الموضوعات التالية واتخذ بشأنها القرارات المناسبة:

1- تقرير عن أنشطة هيئة تنظيم مركز قطر للمال عن الفترة من 1/ 4/ 2020 إلى 31 /3/ 2021.

2- نتائج الاجتماع (60) للجنة التعاون التجاري بدول مجلس التعاون لدول الخليج العربية.

3- نتائج الاجتماع الثاني للجنة الوزارية لشؤون التقييس لمجلس التعاون لدول الخليج العربية.
