Doha: Robots have formed a crossroads between science, engineering and technology because they are able to help or replace humans, and as technology advances many developments have emerged in the manufacture of these intelligent machines.
As the world of robotics expands, they have several distinct characteristics that distinguish them from other machines and technology, the most important of which are the mechanical aspects of the manufacture of robots, and their electrical components that help them to move and perform their functions such as batteries.
Robots also have different levels of computer programming, and without this software and code you can’t tell the robot what to do and what it shouldn’t do, and this software gives the robot the ability to know how and when to do it.
Robots are made to replace humans in a dangerous job or on a difficult mission, or to help humans get things done faster and more efficiently, but the above does not apply to some robots that are made for different purposes.

The Bat
U.S. physicists have been able to make a flying bat robot capable of flying in a unique way. Seth Hutchinson, a professor at the Illinois University of Science, said: “Work on the Bat Bot project started 4 years ago, but experts have finished it this year, the robot weighs only 85 grams, is 20 cm long, and is able to fly in a unique way that mimics the flying of real bats.” The professor added that «the robot depends in its flight on the movement of the wings, and is now unable to compete with small robots, which depend in their flight on the movement of fans, it is not designed to fly in tight spaces, but the basic idea of its design is to take advantage of this experience in the development of futuristic aircraft robots, capable of flying better, as can be used in the study of aerodynamics of aviation»
Tractor

The Military Robot
Ivan the Terminato is the latest advanced military service robot, recently invented by Russia to serve soldiers in war and save their lives, and easily counter the enemy’s front, as it can be controlled miles away by an operator wearing a special suit with sensors in the neck, hands and shoulders, allowing the robot to copy and imitate human movements accurately.

In a London bar, people were surprised by a new robot named Fred, which is indistinguishable from humans sitting next to them and telling them about the “invasion of robots” and looking like a real person, not just a machine, a robot powered by artificial intelligence techniques designed to be a replica of London-based actor Tedroy Newell. According to the British website Daily Mail, the robot was created as part of a publicity campaign to promote the Westworld TV series, Fred was built by five engineers from Robotics Company Engineered Arts, and the development process took twelve weeks.
Octavia
U.S. Marine Laboratory Research Robot Octavia is an artificial machine with some of the scariest facial features. Octavia is a fire fighting robot designed to help engineers test new technologies to help members of the U.S. Navy. Octavia is designed to interact with humans, and engineers are trying to develop ways for the robot to identify and track people, understand what humans say, and recognize any gestures they make. Eventually, scientists hope Octavia can work alongside fellow humans, with complex possibilities for speech and visual recognition.
Atlas The Fighter
One of the scary nightmares of humans is the idea of dealing with an army of terrifying robots that have the ability to jump, run, climb and resist pushing easily and getting up individually after simply falling, and all those things and the super-sophisticated kinetic abilities of the Atlas robot produced by Boston Dynamics, showed the strange dynamics and flexibility of this robot, which in the coming years may be found as a soldier within the armies.

ومع توسّع عالم الروبوتات أصبحت تمتلك عدة خصائص مميزة تميزها عن بقية الآلات والتكنولوجيا، وأهم هذه الخصائص هي الجوانب الميكانيكية في تصنيع الروبوتات، ومكوّناتها الكهربائية التي تُساعدها على الحركة وتأدية وظائفها كالبطاريات.
كما تحتوي الروبوتات على مستويات مختلفة من برمجة الكمبيوتر، ودون هذه البرمجيات والتعليمات البرمجية لا يمكنك إخبار الروبوت ما يجب أن يفعله وما لا يجب أن يفعله، وهذه البرمجيات تمنح الروبوت القدرة على معرفة الكيفية والوقت المُناسبين لما سيقوم به.
تصنع الروبوتات لتحلّ محل البشر في وظيفة خطرة أو في مهمّة صعبة، أو لمساعدة البشر في إنجاز عمل ما في وقت أسرع وكفاءة أعلى، بيد أنّ ما تقدّم لا ينطبق على بعض الروبوتات التي صُنعت لأهداف مختلفة.
سايمون المُخيف
ربما يكون مفهوم روبوت مُرعب منطبقًا بشكل كامل على روبوت سايمون CIMON المخيف الذي بلا شك يعزز الشكوك والمخاوف المثارة حول تحول الروبوتات وبشكل مرعب في الكثير من الأحيان إلى تطوير نفسها لمواجهة البشر أو السير عكس الأوامر والرغبات المطلوبة منهم، حيث قام الروبوت سايمون CIMON خلال تواجده في محطة الفضاء الدولية بالتجاوب بشكل إيجابي للغاية مع رواد الفضاء حتى طلب منه تشغيل أغنية Man Machine وعندما أخبره رائد الفضاء بأن يقوم بإيقافها واجهه سايمون بأسئلة مفاجئة، حيث سأل الروبوت رائد الفضاء هل يشعر معه بالمرح كما طالبه بألا يكون قاسيًا ولئيمًا معه في الحديث، لهذا بكل تأكيد يجب أن نُصنف سايمون كواحد من أكثر الروبوتات المُخيفة على الإطلاق.
الخفاش
تمكّن علماء فيزياء أمريكيون من تصنيع روبوت طائر على شكل خفاش قادر على الطيران بطريقة فريدة من نوعها. وعن الاختراع الجديد قال، سيث هاتشينسون، البروفيسور في جامعة إلينوي للعلوم: «بدأ العمل على مشروع الروبوت (بات بوت) منذ 4 سنوات، لكن الخبراء انتهوا منه هذا العام، الروبوت يزن 85 جرامًا فقط، ويبلغ طوله 20 سم، وهو قادر على الطيران بطريقة فريدة تحاكي طيران الخفافيش الحقيقية». وأضاف البروفيسور أن «الروبوت يعتمد في طيرانه على حركة الجناحين، وهو غير قادر الآن على منافسة الروبوتات الصغيرة، التي تعتمد في طيرانها على حركة المراوح، فهو غير مصمم للطيران في الأماكن الضيقة، ولكن الفكرة الأساسية من تصميمه هي الاستفادة من هذه التجربة في تطوير روبوتات طائرة مستقبليّة، قادرة على الطيران بشكل أفضل، كما يمكن أن يستفاد منه في دراسة آيروديناميكية الطيران».
الجرارة
ابتكار روبوتات مُرعبة مستلهمة من الماضي أمر مثير وشيق للغاية، بكل تأكيد يمثل أهمية تواجد الماضي في حياة البشر، ولعل روبوت الكلاب الجرارة خير مثال على ذلك، حيث يعد هذا الروبوت الذي يستحق الانضمام لقائمة أكثر روبوتات مخيفة محاكاة متطورة من حيث تصميمه وطريقة عمله الكيفية التي كان يعتمد بها البشر القاطنون في الأماكن الثلجية على الكلاب في التنقل من مكان إلى آخر. ولا يطلق وصف روبوت مرعب على تلك الآلة التي أنتجتها شركة Boston Dynamics الأمريكية من فراغ، حيث لا يعد هذا الروبوت ضمن الروبوتات المخيفة المتطورة فحسب على مستوى التصميم بل أيضًا القدرات، فهو قادر على جر الشاحنات والقطع والمعدات الثقيلة بمنتهى السهولة وبطريقة أكثر سرعة وأمانًا على مُختلف تضاريس الطرق.
الثعبان
ترجع غرابةُ الروبوت إلى تصميمه، الذي يشبه الثعبان، في الشكل وطريقة الحركة. يُسمّى ACM-R5، وهو من صنع شركة يابانيّة تدعى HiBot. هذا الروبوت قادر على التحرّك فوق الأرض وتحت الماء كذلك، وهو مزوّد بكشّاف قوي في مقدّمته، وكاميرا، ويستطيع التصوير تحت الماء، ويتلقّى الأوامر عبر موجات الراديو.
الصديق الدائم
هل حلمت يومًا بروبوت صديق كحيوانك الأليف، يشبه ما تراه في أفلام الخيال العلمي ومسلسلات الأطفال؟ هناك من حوّل الحلم إلى حقيقة! Nao روبوت يبلغ سعره 8 آلاف دولار، وهو يستجيب للأوامر الصوتية واللمس، ويستطيع الرقص واللعب. الروبوت الترفيهي مزوّد ببرمجة مُسبقة، ويستطيع التفاعُل مع البشر والردّ عليهم.
الحربي
«Ivan the Terminato» هو أحدث الروبوتات المطوّرة في مجال الخدمة العسكرية، ابتكرته روسيا مؤخرًا لخدمة الجنود في الحرب والإبقاء على أرواحهم، والتصدى بسهولة لجبهة العدو، إذ يمكن التحكم فيه على بُعد أميال من قبل مشغل يرتدي بدلة خاصة تحتوي على أجهزة استشعار في الرقبة واليدين والكتفين، ما يُتيح للروبوت نسخ وتقليد تحرّكات الإنسان بدقة.
نسخة بشرية
فوجئ المتواجدون داخل حانة في لندن بروبوت جديد يحمل اسم Fred لا يمكن تمييزه عن البشر يجلس بجانبهم ويحدثهم عن «غزو الروبوتات» وبدا كأنه شخص حقيقي وليس مجرد آلة، هذا الروبوت المدعوم بتقنيات الذكاء الاصطناعى تم تصميمه ليكون نسخة طبق الأصل من الممثل Tedroy Newell المقيم في لندن. ووفقًا لموقع «ديلى ميل» البريطانى، تم إنشاء الروبوت كجزء من حملة دعائية للترويج لسلسلة Westworld التلفزيونية، وتم بناء روبوت Fred من قِبل خمسة مهندسين من شركة Robotics Company Engineered Arts، واستغرقت عملية التطوير اثني عشر أسبوعًا.
أوكتافيا
روبوت أوكتافيا لبحوث المختبرات البحرية بالولايات المتحدة هو آلة اصطناعية مع بعض ميزات الوجه الأكثر رعبًا.
