Seventh General Assembly of Global Public Diplomacy Network Kicks Off

Doha: The seventh General Assembly of Global Public Diplomacy Network will begin Monday in the Cultural Village Foundation (Katara), chaired by the State of Qatar represented by Katara, with the participation of 14 member states and seven candidate countries.
The organizing committee affirmed the completion of all preparations for the launch of the three-day meeting, with the arrival of the participating delegations.
The meeting is scheduled to witness fundamental modifications in the development of the network’s structure, and to lay out a vision for its strategy in expanding the areas of cooperation, in a manner that institutionalizes the network and enhances its position, strength, and effectiveness internationally through new participations, attracting more members and developing the network’s work, which will reflect positively on achieving the goals of all member states.
The meeting will also witness the joining of seven new countries (Bulgaria, Albania, Romania, Tajikistan, Ghana, Rwanda, and Palestine) to the network, bringing the number of members in the network to 29 countries from different continents of the world.
The meeting will also discuss the initiative launched by Katara to transform the Global Public Diplomacy Network into an international organization.
A series of projects on the meeting agenda will also be discussed, most notably the “Digital Diplomacy” project, which was presented by the Cultural Village Foundation (Katara), in addition to discussing three other papers related to building human capacities and promoting sustainable development programs, in addition to the knowledge and awareness exchange program among member states.
A series of important lectures and courses in the field of international diplomacy will also be held during the meeting.
Qatar obtained the membership of the Global Public Diplomacy Network in 2017 and assumed the presidency from Turkey on May 4, 2019, to become the first Arab country to chair this international organization since its founding in 2014.

الدوحة: تنطلق اليوم /الإثنين/، بالحي الثقافي /كتارا/، أعمال الاجتماع السابع للجمعية العمومية للشبكة الدبلوماسية الدولية العامة، برئاسة دولة قطر ممثلة بالمؤسسة العامة للحي الثقافي /كتارا/، وبمشاركة 14 دولة من الدول الأعضاء في الشبكة، و7 دول مرشحة للعضوية.
وأكدت اللجنة المنظمة اكتمال جميع الاستعدادات لانطلاق أعمال الاجتماع، الذي يستمر ثلاثة أيام، وذلك بوصول الوفود المشاركة.
ومن المقرر أن يشهد الاجتماع تعديلات جوهرية في تطوير بنية الشبكة، ويضع تصورا لاستراتيجيتها في توسيع مجالات التعاون، بما يضفي على الشبكة الطابع المؤسسي ويعزز مكانتها وقوتها وفاعليتها دوليا من خلال المشاركات الجديدة، واستقطاب المزيد من الأعضاء، وتطوير عمل الشبكة بما ينعكس إيجابا على تحقيق أهداف جميع الدول الأعضاء .
كما سيشهد الاجتماع انضمام 7 دول جديدة للشبكة هي: بلغاريا، وألبانيا، ورومانيا، وطاجيكستان، وغانا، ورواندا وفلسطين، ليرتفع بذلك عدد الأعضاء في الشبكة إلى 29 دولة من مختلف قارات العالم.
كما سيناقش الاجتماع المبادرة التي أطلقتها /كتارا/ بتحويل الشبكة الدبلوماسية الدولية العامة إلى منظمة دولية.
كما ستتم مناقشة سلسلة من المشاريع المطروحة على جدول الاجتماع، أبرزها مشروع “الدبلوماسية الرقمية”، الذي تقدمت به المؤسسة العامة للحي الثقافي /كتارا/، إلى جانب مناقشة ثلاث أوراق أخرى تتعلق ببناء القدرات البشرية وتعزيز برامج التنمية المستدامة، بالإضافة إلى برنامج التبادل المعرفي والتوعوي بين الدول الأعضاء.
كما ستعقد خلال الاجتماع سلسلة من المحاضرات والدورات الهامة في ميدان الدبلوماسية الدولية.
يشار إلى أن دولة قطر انضمت إلى عضوية الشبكة الدبلوماسية الدولية العامة عام 2017، وتسلمت رئاستها من الجمهورية التركية في الرابع من مايو 2019 ، لتصبح أول دولة عربية تترأس هذه المنظمة الدولية منذ تأسيسها عام 2014.
