Doha: HE President of Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al-Thani honored the Qatar national handball team, on the occasion of their winning of the title of the 21st Asian Mens Handball Championship, held recently in Bahrain.
The honoring ceremony was attended by HE Second Vice-President of QOC Dr. Thani bin Abdulrahman Al Kuwari, HE Secretary-General of QOC Jassim Rashid Al Buainain, and President of the Qatar Handball Association (QHA) Ahmed Al Shaabi.
HE Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al-Thani praised the achievement made by the champions of the handball team, thanking the players and members of the administrative and technical staff for the great efforts that resulted in this achievement. His Excellency wished success to all Qatari teams and to achieve more accomplishments and honorable results in their upcoming participation at all levels.
Qatar handball team won the Asian title after winning the final match over its Japanese counterpart with a score of (30/24), retaining the title for the sixth consecutive time. The team also qualified for the 2025 IHF World Men’s Handball Championship, which will be held in Croatia, Denmark, and Norway for the tenth time.

الدوحة: كرم سعادة الشيخ جوعان بن حمد آل ثاني، رئيس اللجنة الأولمبية القطرية المنتخب القطري لكرة اليد؛ بمناسبة فوزه بلقب البطولة الآسيوية الحادية والعشرين للرجال التي أقيمت مؤخرا في البحرين.
حضر التكريم سعادة الدكتور ثاني بن عبدالرحمن الكواري النائب الثاني لرئيس اللجنة الأولمبية القطرية، وسعادة السيد جاسم بن راشد البوعينين أمين عام اللجنة الأولمبية القطرية، والسيد أحمد الشعبي رئيس الاتحاد القطري لكرة اليد.
وقد أشاد سعادة الشيخ جوعان بن حمد آل ثاني بالإنجاز الذي حققه أبطال منتخب كرة اليد، متوجها بالشكر للاعبين وأعضاء الجهازين الإداري والفني على الجهود الكبيرة المبذولة التي أثمرت هذا الإنجاز، متمنيا سعادته التوفيق لكافة المنتخبات القطرية، وتحقيق المزيد من الإنجازات والنتائج المشرفة في المشاركات المقبلة على كافة الأصعدة.
وكان المنتخب القطري لكرة اليد قد توج باللقب الآسيوي بعد فوزه في المباراة النهائية على نظيره الياباني بنتيجة (30 / 24)، ليحافظ على اللقب للمرة السادسة على التوالي، كما تأهل المنتخب لبطولة العالم التي ستقام في كرواتيا والدنمارك والنرويج العام المقبل 2025، وذلك للمرة العاشرة.
