Qatar builds more homes and clinics for Afghan refugees: Lolwah Al-Khater

Doha: “The Qatari government and charities have built more homes and field clinics and provide more than 55,000 meals a day to Afghan refugees,” The New York Times quoted H.E. Lolwah Bint Rashid al-Khater, assistant secretary of state and state department spokesman.
About two-thirds of those evacuated from Afghanistan have moved to other countries, and about 20,000 remain in Qatar, which provides them with food and medical care, the U.S. newspaper said.
Some of them, including Afghans who worked for media organizations such as the New York Times, were housed in entirely new villas built for the 2022 World Cup, the paper said. Others live at the al-Adaid military base.
Qatar has provided 68 tons of food and medical aid to Afghanistan, the paper said.

وقالت الصحيفة الأمريكية إن حوالي ثلثي الأشخاص الذين تم إجلاؤهم من أفغانستان قد انتقلوا إلى دول أخرى، ولا يزال حوالي 20000 شخص في قطر، التي توفر لهم الطعام والرعاية الطبية.
وأوضحت الصحيفة أنه تم إسكان بعضهم، بما في ذلك الأفغان الذين عملوا في مؤسسات إعلامية مثل” نيويورك تايمز”، في فيلات جديدة تماماً تم بناؤها لكأس العالم 2022. فيما يعيش البعض الآخر في قاعدة العديد العسكرية.
