Equestrian: Hargan Wins in the French Arabian Breeders Challenge

Paris: Hargan, the horse owned by HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Khalifa Al-Thani, won first place today in the French Arabian Breeders Challenge Poulains, a Group 2 for three-year-old Purebred Arabian colts and geldings, at La Teste De Buch, France.
The black colt is trained by Franois Rohaut and was following up his debut success at the same track in July.
Ridden by Maxime Guyon, Hargan was quickly into stride on leaving the stalls and ran keenly though the opening stages of the 2,000m contest. Al Muwaiji moved to the lead after 400m and Hargan took cover behind him. Hargan travelled strongly down the back straight and began to move closer on the home turn. On entering the straight, he was the only horse on the bridle and looked to have his opponents held before moving smoothly into the lead 400m out and pulling clear of the field. Despite being eased down in the final strides, Hargan scored by three and a half lengths from stable-mate Rb Yas Sir, who was ridden by Valentin Seguy, with HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Khalifa Al-Thanis Maguroor further three and a half lengths back in third under Jean-Bernard Eyquem for trainer JF Bernard.
“Today Hargan was more serious than Rb Yas Sir, who is very green and may need blinkers next time out,” said winning trainer Francois Rohaut after the race, “They both ran well and it means that we now have four very good Arabians in the yard and they may all go to Saint Cloud. Hargan is a very good horse with a lot of size and potential. We look forward to running him next month.

باريس: واصل المهر “حرقان” ملك سمو الشيخ محمد بن خليفة آل ثاني انتصاراته بعد فوزه اليوم بالمركز الأول في شوط التحدي الفرنسي لمنتجي الخيل العربية الأصيلة الذكور عمر 3 سنوات لمسافة 2000 متر الذي أقيم شوطه على مضمار لاتيست دو بوش بفرنسا ، وذلك بإشراف المدرب فرانسوا رو وبقيادة الخيال ماكسيم غيون.
وبدأ “حرقان” الشوط بقوة فاندفع سريعاً من بوابة الانطلاق واتسم أداؤه بالحماس في المراحل الأولى، وابتعد عن جميع منافسيه، حتى أحرز فوزاً مريحاً بفارق 3 أطوال ونصف، وجاء في المركز الثاني المهر “آر بي ياس سير” بإشراف المدرب فرانسوا رو أيضاً وبقيادة الخيال فالانتو سوغي، وجاء خلفه وبفارق ثلاثة أطوال ونصف أخرى في المركز الثالث المهر “مغرور” ملك سمو الشيخ محمد بن خليفة آل ثاني وبإشراف المدربة إليزابيث برنار وبقيادة الخيال جون برنار إيكيم.
وتحدث المدرب الفائز فرانسوا رو بعد الشوط عن جواديه الفائز بشوط التحدي الفرنسي والوصيف، قائلا ” لقد كان “حرقان” أكثر جدية من “آر بي ياس سير”، الذي لا يزال يفتقر تماماً للخبرة وربما يحتاج لارتداء القناع في مشاركته القادمة، وقدم كل منهما أداءً جيداً، مما يعني أن لدينا الآن 4 جياد عربية متميزة للغاية، وربما يذهبون جميعاً للمشاركة في جائزة قطر للخيل العربية الأصيلة الذكور عمر 3 سنوات التي تقام على مضمار سان كلو بفرنسا ضمن فعاليات سباق جائزة قطر قوس النصر الشهر القادم .
