Demands to prevent cars from entering beaches during tides

Doha: A number of beach-goers called on the concerned authorities to impose control over the beaches to prevent vehicles from driving into dangerous areas at low tides, in order to avoid drowning, which is an increasing phenomenon in the areas of Sealine, Khor Al Udaid and Bufontas Beach.

Emphasizing that many do not take high tides into account, as it rises without a warning. They pointed out that a lot of cars are drowning into the sand especially during the weekends, as water recedes from the shore leaving vast spaces. thus some visitors are encouraged to enter these areas and sit for long periods of time, then out of the blue, water begins to flood that area, which often results in drowning incidents.

They stressed the need to compel beachgoers to stay at least 50 meters away from the beach line to avoid such incidents.

الدوحة: دعا عددٌ من مُرتادي الشواطئ الجهات المعنية إلى ضرورة فرض رقابة على الشواطئ لمنع توغل المُرتادين إلى المناطق الخطرة في أوقات الجزْر بمركباتهم لتفادي ظاهرة غرقها الذي يزيد في مناطق سيلين وخور العديد وشاطئ بوفنطاس، مؤكدين أن الكثيرين لا يُراعون أثناء دخولهم ظاهرة المد التي تحدث فجأة دون الشعور بوجود خطر عليهم.

ولفتوا إلى أن حالات غرق السيارات ترتفعُ بصورة ملحوظة في أيام الإجازة الأسبوعيّة، لا سيما مع انحسار المياه عن الشاطئ وتشكيل مساحات من اليابسة، حيث يقوم بعض الزوّار بالدخول إلى تلك المناطق والجلوس لأوقات طويلة وبشكل مُفاجئ تبدأ المياه بغمر تلك المساحة دون شعورهم، ما يُعرّضهم غالبًا للغرق، مُشدّدين على ضرورة إلزام روّاد الشواطئ بالابتعاد مسافة لا تقل عن 50 مترًا من الشاطئ لتفادي حالات الغرق.
