Samsung phone caught fire on a plane forcing passengers to evacuate

A Samsung Galaxy A21 cell phone caught fire in the cabin of an Alaska Airlines plane after landing at the international airport between Seattle and Tacoma, forcing the crew to start an emergency evacuation.
On Monday, Seattle-Tacoma International Airport tweeted: “The Seattle Port Fire Department (the government agency that oversees the Seattle port and airport) responded to a report of a fire in the cargo hold of Alaska Airlines Flight 751 upon arrival, the fire and the passengers were contained, the fire occurred in the cabin of the aircraft.”
Fortunately, the phone did not catch fire while the plane was in flight and all 129 passengers and six crew members were safely transported to the building, without serious injuries despite two people receiving hospital treatment, according to Sky News.
The plane’s crew used fire extinguishers and a battery containment bag to “stop the phone from smoking.” Passengers were evacuated from the plane via the evacuation slides due to the heavy smoke and were transported by bus to the airport.
The phone was a Samsung Galaxy A21 although the device was “burned beyond recognition”, its details were provided by the passenger who owned it.
This incident reminds people of the Galaxy Note 7, which was banned from aircrafts due to the issue of battery explosions, and Samsung was forced to stop manufacturing the phone and withdraw it out of the market, but this time the concerns were not the same.

وقال مطار سياتل تاكوما الدولي ، الاثنين الماضي ،على صفحته بموقع “تويتر”: ” استجابت إدارة حرائق ميناء سياتل (الوكالة الحكومية التي تشرف على ميناء ومطار سياتل) إلى تقرير حريق في عنبر الشحن برحلة طيران ألاسكا رقم 751. عند الوصول، تم احتواء الحريق والركاب، إن النيران قد حدثت في مقصورة الطائرة”.
وبحسب شبكة سكاي نيوز البريطانية فإنه لحسن الحظ ، لم تشتعل النيران في الهاتف أثناء تحليق الطائرة وتم نقل جميع الركاب البالغ عددهم 129 راكبًا وستة من أفراد الطاقم بأمان إلى المبنى ، دون إصابات خطيرة على الرغم من تلقي شخصين العلاج في المستشفى.
