Tayf wins Group 1 President of the UAE Cup in France
«طيف» لعبدالله بن خليفة يفوز بكأس رئيس الإمارات في فرنسا
The HH Sheikh Abdullah Bin Khalifa Al Thani-owned TAYF (Amer) landed the Group 1 President Of The UAE Cup (Coupe d’Europe) for four-year and older purebred Arabian horses at ParisLongchamp, France yesterday.
Tayf excelled and gave a brilliant well-timed performance throughout the 2000-metre race, making it a prefect start for his seasonal debut in Europe.
At the early stages, he cantered in sixth position. When right moment came, he showed a fantastic turn of foot, chasing and passing Khataab (Amer). Tayf, then, continued his strong surge till the end, securing a decisive win by a margin of three quarters of a length in front of Al Shaqab Racing’s Khataab who came second.
Lightning Bolt (Munjiz) completed the frame by two further lengths behind.
“Olivier Peslier knows him by heart,” said winning trainer, Alban de Mieulle.
“We could have run Yazeed in his place, but in a soft ground, Tayf seemed a better choice. He had won in heavy ground in Goodwood.
“He is back in great form after a long period of absence. It was two years since his last success in England,” he said yesterday.
“We had a hard time getting him back at this level, but he is back. 200m from the post, he had enough energy to take the lead, but his jockey knows how to do and he made him take the advantage at the end because we know he has a tendency to stop once in front.”
فاز الجواد «طيف» ملك سمو الشيخ عبدالله بن خليفة آل ثاني، بكأس رئيس دولة الإمارات (كأس أوروبا) من الفئة الأولى للخيل العربية الأصيلة عمر 4 سنوات فما فوق لمسافة 2000 متر، بالشوط الذي أُقيم على مضمار باريس لونشو بفرنسا أمس الأول. وقدّم «طيف» بإشراف المدرب ألبان دو ميول وبقيادة الخيال أوليفييه بلييه، أداء رائعاً تميّز بحسن التوقيت طوال مراحل الشوط، ليقدّم بذلك بداية رائعة ومثالية لمشاركاته على المضامير الأوروبية هذا الموسم. واتسم أداء «طيف» (ابن عامر) بالهدوء والثقة، وعندما حانت اللحظة المناسبة أظهر قدرة رائعة على زيادة سرعته ليلاحق الجواد «خطاب» (ملك الشقب) الذي شغل المقدمة في البداية ويتجاوزه. واستمر «طيف» في اندفاعه القوي حتى النهاية، ليحرز فوزاً حاسماً بفارق طول إلا ربع عن «خطاب» (ابن عامر) الذي جاء ثانياً.
وأشاد المدرب الفائز ألبان دو ميول بأداء «طيف» والخيّال أوليفييه بلييه، والذي وصفه بأنه يعرف «طيف» جيداً. وقال: «أوليفييه بلييه يعرفه عن ظهر قلب، وكان بإمكاننا إشراك (يزيد) بدلاً من (طيف) في هذا الشوط. ولكن عندما تكون الأرضية لينة، يبدو «طيف» الاختيار الأفضل، خاصة وأنه سبق له الفوز على أرضية شديدة الليونة على مضمار غودوود». كما أعرب دو ميول عن سعادته بعودة «طيف» للمشاركات واستعادته مستواه المتميّز، فقال: «ها هو يعود بمستوى رائع بعد فترة طويلة من الغياب؛ فقد مر عامان منذ آخر فوز حققه في إنجلترا. ولقد بذلنا مجهوداً شاقاً لإعادته إلى هذا المستوى».
