“Kabul Skydiving Club”, U.S. shirt mocks Afghan victims

“Kabul Skydiving Club” is a phrase printed on t-shirts that has sparked widespread outrage on social media over the exploitation of U.S. online platforms of the tragedy of the Afghan people and their fall after they clung to a military plane to escape Afghanistan.

T-shirts that spread on online platforms in the United States mocked the scene of Afghan citizens falling after they clung to a military aircraft. The move angered activists, tweeters and politicians on the platforms, calling it a shameful trade.

The 8th Bulletin program, broadcasted on al-Jazeera, monitored the anger of platform activists in Turkey and the Arab world, where activists described the design as insulting, surprised by the ability of some to invest in the pain and despair of others and turn it into a money-generating trade.

Turkish presidential spokesman Ibrahim Qalain said in a tweet: “At first I thought it was a bad joke but it was a fact. Enjoying and trading through the despair and pain of others is modern brutality,” he said.

حملت القمصان التي انتشرت على منصات للبيع الإلكتروني في الولايات المتحدة، سخرية من مشهد سقوط مواطنين أفغان بعد تشبثهم بإحدى الطائرات العسكرية. وتسببت هذه الخطوة في غضب ناشطين ومغردين وسياسيين على المنصات، ووصفوها بالتجارة المخجلة.

وقال المتحدث باسم الرئاسة التركية إبراهيم قالين في تغريدة: “في البداية اعتقدت أنها نكتة سيئة لكن كانت حقيقة. واعتبر أن الاستمتاع والتجارة من خلال يأس وألم الآخرين هي الوحشية الحديثة.”
