IMF Chief Warns of Uneven Pace of Economic Recovery

London: International Monetary Fund (IMF) Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva warned of a worsening disparity in the pace of economic recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic, amid difficulties faced by some countries in obtaining vaccines.
In press remarks during the G7 summit in southwest England on Sunday, the IMF chief said warned of alarming disparities in the recovery, adding that the latest data confirms that this curve will not only continue but will deepen.
She expected that the inflation rise to be temporary, but it cannot be accepted, pointing out that inflation in emerging economies is a cause for greatest concern.

لندن: حذرت السيدة كريستالينا جورجيفا مديرة صندوق النقد الدولي، من تفاوت متفاقم في وتيرة التعافي الاقتصادي من جائحة /كوفيد-19/ وسط مصاعب تواجهها بعض الدول في الحصول على اللقاحات.
وقالت مديرة صندوق النقد الدولي في تصريح صحفي خلال قمة مجموعة السبع في جنوب غرب إنجلترا اليوم، “أخذنا نحذر من تفاوتات في التعافي تنذر بالخطر. أحدث البيانات تؤكد أن هذا المنحنى لن يتواصل فحسب، بل سيتعمق”.
وأضافت، أنها تتوقع أن يكون ارتفاع التضخم مؤقتا، لكنه أمر لا يمكن التسليم به وأن التضخم في الاقتصادات الناشئة يبعث على أشد القلق.
