Ashghal Wins First Position in Award by RoSPA

Doha: The Public Works Authority (Ashghal), represented by the Quality and Safety Department, has won the first position among 2,000 participants worldwide in the “Best Government and Public Service Sector” in Health and Safety Performance for the Year 2020, which was granted by the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) that is managed by the Executive Committee and Board of Trustees under the patronage of the UK.
The Quality and Safety team has prepared the submission for the award with high level of professionalism, containing more than 120 evidences to prove the level of occupational safety and health performance through actual implementations at Ashghal premises and its projects with high credibility and professionalism, including managing issues related to Covid-19 pandemic, and the commitment of Ashghal employees, contractors and consultants with the precautionary requirements to protect workers.
On this occasion, the Manager of Quality and Safety Department at Ashghal Dr. Ali Muhammad Al Marri said: “Such wins prove the extent to which Ashghal is committed to local and international laws and standards of occupational safety and health, and also in preserving workers’ rights.”
Dr. Al Mari also pointed out the great importance the government of Qatar gives to issues of occupational health and safety for workers, and the steps taken in this regard, stressing on Ashghal’s keenness on implementing highest standards of health and safety for workers in work sites, workers’ housing, and ensuring their rights throughout the period of work in Ashghal projects.
Established in 1956, The RoSPA Health and Safety Awards offer organizations a prime opportunity to benchmark safety performance year on year and ensure consistent performance between sites. They also provide an effective route to demonstrate an ongoing commitment to raising health and safety standards.

الدوحة: حصلت هيئة الأشغال العامة /أشغال/ ممثلة بإدارة الجودة والسلامة على المركز الأول من بين 2000 مشارك من كل دول العالم في مسابقة /أفضل قطاع حكومي وخدمات عامة في أداء الصحة والسلامة عن عام 2020/، والتي نظمتها الجمعية الملكية للوقاية من الحوادث /RoSPA/ وتديرها لجنة تنفيذية ومجلس أمناء تحت رعاية ملكة المملكة المتحدة.
وقام الفريق المشكل من الهيئة بعمل كبير وعلى مستوى عال من المهنية والاحترافية بتقديم ملف الجائزة، الذي يحتوي على أكثر من 120 دليلا وبرهانا لإثبات مستوى أداء السلامة والصحة المهنية من خلال التطبيق الفعلي بـ/أشغال/ ومشاريعها بمصداقية ومهنية عالية، ومنها كيفية إدارة المواضيع المتعلقة بوباء /كوفيد ـ 19/ والتزام موظفيها والمقاولين والاستشاريين بالمتطلبات الاحترازية لحماية العمال.
وقال الدكتور علي محمد المري، مدير إدارة الجودة والسلامة في /أشغال/ بهذه المناسبة، إن هذه النجاحات والثمرات تثبت مدى التزام هيئة الأشغال العامة /أشغال/ بالقوانين والمواصفات المحلية والدولية للسلامة والصحة المهنية وحفاظاً أيضاً على حقوق العمال.
ولفت إلى الأهمية الكبرى التي توليها دولة قطر لموضوع الصحة والسلامة المهنية للعمال والخطوات التي قطعتها في هذا المجال، مؤكدا في هذا السياق حرص /أشغال/ على تطبيق أعلى معايير صحة وسلامة العمال في مواقع العمل والسكن، والتي يوازيها الحرص نفسه على ضمان حقوقهم طوال فترة عملهم في المشاريع.
الجدير بالذكر أنه تم إنشاء جوائز /RoSPA/ للصحة والسلامة في عام 1956 للمؤسسات التي توفر أفضل أداء للسلامة سنويًا وأعلى مستويات السلامة بمواقع العمل، مع الالتزام الكامل والمستمر برفع معايير الصحة والسلامة.
