Qatar Ranks Second in the World for Percentage of Population with at Least One COVID-19 Vaccine Dose

Doha: The latest statistics published by “Our World in Data”, a scientific online publication compiling COVID-19 vaccination data from around the world, shows Qatar is ranked second in the world for the percentage of population that have received at least one COVID-19 vaccine dose, among countries with a population of more than one million.

The Ministry of Public Health stated that since the start of the National COVID-19 Vaccination Program more than 4,230,000 vaccine doses have been administered, with 79.8 percent of the total population of Qatar having received at least one vaccine dose. “Our World in Data” also ranks Qatar fifth in the world for the percentage of the population that are fully vaccinated, among countries with a population of more than one million, with 68.9 percent of the population having received two vaccine doses.

The Ministry of Public Health explained that the success of Qatars vaccination program to date has been thanks to the overwhelming support of the community.

However, the Ministry said there are still a small number of people who are eligible for the vaccine who have not yet accepted their invitation to get vaccinated.

With the delta variant posing a greater threat to people in Qatar and around the world, the Ministry said it is extremely important that as many people as possible are vaccinated. The Ministry urged people who are not yet vaccinated to get the vaccine and play their part in beating COVID-19.

الدوحة: احتلت دولة قطر المرتبة الثانية على مستوى العالم من حيث النسبة المئوية للسكان الذين تلقوا على الأقل جرعة واحدة من اللقاح المضاد لفيروس كورونا /كوفيد-19/ بين البلدان التي يزيد عدد سكانها على مليون نسمة.

جاء ذلك في أحدث الإحصاءات التي نشرتها منظمة Our World in Data /عالمنا في البيانات/، وهي نشرة علمية تصدر عبر الإنترنت وتجمع بيانات التطعيم ضد مرض فيروس كورونا /كوفيد-19/ من جميع أنحاء العالم.

كما بينت الإحصاءات التي نشرتها المنظمة حصول دولة قطر على المركز الخامس عالميا من حيث النسبة المئوية للسكان الذين أخذوا التطعيم بشكل كامل، من بين البلدان التي يزيد عدد سكانها عن مليون نسمة.

وأوضحت وزارة الصحة العامة أنه منذ بدء البرنامج الوطني للتطعيم ضد فيروس كورونا /كوفيد-19/، تم إعطاء أكثر من 4,230,000 جرعة لقاح، حيث تلقى 79.8 بالمئة من إجمال عدد سكان قطر جرعة واحدة على الأقل من اللقاح، فيما تلقى 68.9 بالمئة من السكان جرعتين من اللقاح.

ونوهت وزارة الصحة بأن نجاح برنامج التطعيم في قطر حتى الآن جاء بفضل الدعم الهائل من المجتمع والوعي لدى الأفراد والمجتمع، داعية الأشخاص المؤهلين للحصول على اللقاح ولم يأخذوه حتى الآن إلى الإسراع والتقدم للحصول على التطعيم.

وأشارت الوزارة إلى أن متغير دلتا يمثل تهديدًا أكبر في قطر وحول العالم لذلك من المهم للغاية أن يتم تطعيم أكبر عدد ممكن من الأشخاص المستحقين.
