Doha: HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani held Friday via telephone a conversation with HE President of the United States of America Joe Biden.
The call dealt with reviewing developments in the region, particularly the latest developments in Afghanistan. The two sides stressed on the importance of protecting civilians, the peaceful transition of power, and de-escalating tensions towards a comprehensive political solution that guarantees security and stability to benefit the Afghan people.
HE the US President expressed his thanks to HH the Amir for the State of Qatar’s contribution to the evacuation of civilians and the country’s efforts in the peace process in Afghanistan.
The call also dealt with the strategic bilateral relations between the two countries, and the scope for expanding and enhancing them.

جرى، خلال الاتصال، مناقشة تطورات الأحداث في المنطقة، لاسيما آخر المستجدات في أفغانستان، وأكد الجانبان على ضرورة حماية المدنيين والانتقال السلمي للسلطة وتخفيف حدة التوتر وصولا إلى حل سياسي شامل لضمان الأمن والاستقرار لما فيه مصلحة الشعب الأفغاني.
كما أعرب فخامة الرئيس الأمريكي عن شكره لسمو الأمير المفدى على مساهمة دولة قطر في عمليات إخلاء المدنيين وجهودها في عملية السلام في أفغانستان.
