Health Official: COVID-19 Epidemiological Situation in Palestine is Getting Worse

Ramallah: The COVID-19 epidemiological situation in Palestine is getting worse and there is an increase in the number of patients who need hospitalization, said Director General of Hospitals in the Palestinian Ministry of Health Naji Nazzal on Wednesday.

He warned in a statement that while there was a decrease in the number of COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations during the last period, the situation is now getting worse after the detection of Delta variant cases, according to (WAFA) news agency.

He said that the ministry has made the necessary preparations to deal with the rise in numbers and its corona centers are all ready to receive cases, stressing the need for people to get vaccinated against COVID-19 since the vaccination would save lives and prevent people from getting into intensive care.

رام الله: قالت وزارة الصحة الفلسطينية، إن الوضع الوبائي في فلسطين يزداد سوءا، وهناك ازدياد في أعداد المرضى الذين يحتاجون إلى دخول المستشفيات.

وذكر السيد نجي نزال مدير عام المستشفيات في وزارة الصحة الفلسطينية، في بيان صحفي، أن هناك انخفاضا في أعداد الإصابات والدخول للمستشفيات خلال الفترة الماضية، ولكن الوضع الآن يزداد سوءا مع بداية دخول /متحور دلتا/ إلى فلسطين.

وأكد أن الوزارة قامت بالتجهيزات اللازمة، كما أن مراكزها على كافة الجهوزية لاستقبال الحالات.

وشدد نزال على ضرورة تلقي اللقاحات كونها تخفف أعراض المرض، وتحمي المريض من دخول العناية المكثفة.

جدير بالذكر بأن فلسطين سجلت بالأمس /الثلاثاء/ 895 إصابة جديدة بفيروس كورونا، مع وجود 54 مصابا في المستشفيات، بينهم مريضان على أجهزة التنفس الاصطناعي.. فيما بلغ عدد الملقحين في الضفة الغربية وقطاع غزة 658,182 بينهم 431,153 تلقوا الجرعتين من اللقاح.
