Katara Postal Stamp Exhibition Pays Tribute to International Football Tournaments

Doha: The Arab Postal Stamp Museum in Katara is holding an exhibition on stamps relevant to the sporting championships. The event is within Katara events accompanying the AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023 and will run until Feb. 10.
Director of the Museum Amira Ahmed Al Mohannadi pointed out that the exhibition combines a massive collection and a cornucopia of postal stamps that document multiple previous editions of the football world cup tournaments held in numerous countries such as Mexico in 1986, United States 1994, Spain 1982, Japan and Korea 2002, France 1998, and Italy 1990, in addition to postal stamps that carry the photos of Arab and Gulf teams.
The exhibition offers a special section dedicated to publications related to the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 tournament, along with photos of sports stadiums that hosted the competitions, in addition to rare postal stamps that patently document a variety of sporting events such as the Gulf football and Olympiad championships.
In addition, the artists were determined to have a vibrant presence within Katara events accompanying the world cup, where a contingent of artists participate with live paintings showcased to the public, among them the Artist Nasser Al Mannai who affirmed that he is delighted to participate in Katara events, adding that this was not his first participation, because he had already participated in the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 tournament and horse festival.
The participation nurtures the artists experience, as painting is a unique and stellar experience in front of the public in one venue which reduces spaces among them and introduces artworks, he said.
The public at Katara continue attending the Qatari Ardha shows, along with military shows and the Omani popular band.

الدوحة: يقيم متحف البريد العربي في كتارا، معرضا حول الطوابع ذات العلاقة بالبطولات الرياضية.
ويأتي المعرض ضمن فعاليات كتارا المصاحبة لكأس آسيا قطر 2023، التي تتواصل حتى 10 فبراير المقبل.
وأوضحت السيدة أميرة المهندي مديرة متحف البريد العربي، أن المعرض يضم مجموعة ضخمة وتشكيلة واسعة من الطوابع البريدية التي توثق مختلف النسخ السابقة لبطولات كأس العالم لكرة القدم، والتي أقيمت في العديد من البلدان مثل المكسيك 1986، الولايات المتحدة 1994، وإسبانيا 1982 واليابان وكوريا 2002، فرنسا 1998، إيطاليا 1990.. إلى جانب الطوابع البريدية التي تحمل صور المنتخبات العربية والخليجية.
كما يقدم المعرض قسما خاصا يتضمن الإصدارات الخاصة بمونديال كأس العالم FIFA قطر 2022 وصور الملاعب الرياضية التي استضافت المنافسات، علاوة على طوابع بريدية نادرة توثق مختلف الأحداث الرياضية مثل البطولات الخليجية لكرة القدم وبطولات الأولمبياد.
في سياق متصل كان للفنانين حضورهم البارز ضمن فعاليات كتارا المصاحبة لكأس العالم، حيث تشارك مجموعة من الفنانين بالرسم الحي أمام الجمهور.
وفي هذا الخصوص، قال الفنان ناصر المناعي:” سعيد بمشاركتي في فعاليات كتارا المصاحبة لكأس آسيا قطر 2023. هذه ليست مشاركتي الأولى؛ فقد سبق أن شاركت في فعاليات كأس العالم 2022، ومهرجان الخيل”، موضحا أنه يشارك بلوحة الهدف وهي الشعار المستخدم في كأس آسيا 2023.
وأضاف: “هذه المشاركات من شأنها أن تثري تجارب الفنان، حيث إن الرسم في عين المكان وأمام الجمهور هو تجربة فريدة ومميزة تضيف للفنان، كما يقلص المسافات بينه وبين الجمهور مما يساهم في التعريف به ونشر أعماله”.
كما يواصل جمهور كتارا متابعة العرضة القطرية ومختلف العروض العسكرية بالإضافة إلى عروض الفرقة الشعبية العمانية بشكل يومي انطلاقا من ساعة الحكمة وصولا لأروقة الحي الثقافي.
