Minister of Health inspects treatment services provided to coronavirus patients

Doha: The Minister of Public Health H E Dr Hanan Mohamed Al Kuwari, visited today the Communicable Disease Center and Qatar Rehabilitation Center of Hamad Medical Corporation, where she met with senior officials responsible for providing services related to fighting Coronavirus (COVID -19).
The Minister, in her visit to the Communicable Disease Center, was accompanied by Medical Director at CDC Dr. Mona Al Muslimani and was briefed on the treatment services provided by the Center for COVID-19 patients.
Her Excellency met with the infection control teams to discuss patient care protocols that were specially developed to treat cases of coronavirus infection and the symptoms associated with it. During the visit, Her Excellency visited a new clinic created by the CDC to obtain blood plasma from people recovering from the Coronavirus.
This advanced service enables collection of blood plasma from people who have recovered from infection with the Coronavirus and transporting it to people with the disease who are currently receiving treatment, as the antibodies present in the blood plasma taken from the recovered people can help patients undergoing treatment to enhance their resistance to the virus.
During the visit to the new clinic, the Minister met a person recovering from the virus who is also plasma donor, and discussed with him his experience regarding infection and his recovery from this disease.
During her visit to the Qatar Rehabilitation Center, Her Excellency reviewed two of the main services provided at the center under the supervision of the Medical Director of Rumailah Hospital and Qatar Rehabilitation Center Dr. Hanadi Al Hamad, and visited a gymnasium at the center, and examined part of a training session for a small number of the elderly patients. These classes are taken regularly to ensure that patients continue to be physically active and maintain their health during this difficult period.
In addition, HE Dr. Al Kuwari and Dr. Hanadi Al Hamad participated in one of the “remote” medical counseling sessions provided by the Geriatric Clinic, where this service was launched with the aim of enabling elderly patients to obtain medical consultations from their homes and spare them the need to visit the hospital.
On the other hand, HE the Minister of Public Health discussed during the daily meeting of the Health System Committee for Accident Control to confront Covid-19, which is held under the chairmanship of Dr. Saad Al Kaabi, the latest developments related to Coronavirus and the plans for the ongoing health system efforts to combat this epidemic.

زارت سعادة الدكتورة حنان محمد الكواري وزيرة الصحة العامة، أمس، كلاً من مركز الأمراض الانتقالية، ومركز قطر لإعادة التأهيل، التابعين لمؤسسة حمد الطبية، حيث التقت بكبار المسؤولين عن تقديم الخدمات المرتبطة بمكافحة فيروس كورونا «كوفيد – 19». وتعرفت سعادة وزيرة الصحة في زيارتها لمركز الأمراض الانتقالية، والتي رافقتها فيها الدكتورة منى المسلماني المدير الطبي للمركز، على الخدمات العلاجية المقدمة بمركز الأمراض الانتقالية للمرضى المصابين بفيروس «كوفيد – 19».
كما التقت الدكتورة حنان الكواري بفرق مكافحة العدوى لمناقشة بروتوكولات رعاية المرضى التي تم وضعها خصيصاً لعلاج حالات الإصابة بفيروس كورونا «كوفيد – 19» والأعراض المصاحبة له، وتفقدت خلال الزيارة عيادة جديدة تم إنشاؤها بمركز الأمراض الانتقالية للحصول على بلازما الدم من الأشخاص المتعافين من فيروس كورونا.
وتتيح هذه الخدمة المتطورة جمع بلازما الدم من الأشخاص الذين تعافوا من الإصابة بفيروس كورونا ونقلها للأشخاص المصابين بالمرض والذين يتلقون العلاج منه حالياً، حيث إن الأجسام المضادة الموجودة في بلازما الدم الذي تم أخذه من الأشخاص المتعافين يمكنها أن تساعد المرضى الذين يخضعون للعلاج على تعزيز مقاومتهم للفيروس.
وقد التقت وزيرة الصحة العامة خلال زيارتها للعيادة الجديدة أحد الأشخاص المتعافين من الفيروس والمتبرعين بالبلازما، وناقشت معه تجربته بشأن الإصابة بهذا المرض وشفاءه منه.
كما اطلعت سعادة وزيرة الصحة، خلال تفقدها مركز قطر لإعادة التأهيل، على اثنتين من الخدمات الرئيسية المقدمة بالمركز تحت إشراف الدكتورة هنادي الحمد المدير الطبي لمستشفى الرميلة ومركز قطر لإعادة التأهيل، وزارت إحدى صالات التمارين الرياضية بالمركز، واطلعت على جزء من حصة تدريبية مخصصة لعدد صغير من المرضى الداخليين من كبار السن.. ويتم إجراء هذه الحصص بصورة منتظمة لضمان استمرار المرضى في ممارسة النشاط البدني والمحافظة على صحتهم خلال هذه الفترة العصيبة.
وإضافة إلى ذلك شاركت سعادة الدكتورة الكواري والدكتورة هنادي الحمد في إحدى جلسات الاستشارة الطبية «عن بعد»، التي يقدمها قسم أمراض الشيخوخة للمرضى من كبار السن، حيث تم إطلاق هذه الخدمة بهدف تمكين المرضى كبار السن من الحصول على الاستشارات الطبية من منازلهم وتجنيبهم الحاجة لزيارة المستشفى.
من جهة أخرى ناقشت سعادة وزيرة الصحة العامة خلال الاجتماع اليومي للجنة النظام الصحي للتحكم والسيطرة على الحوادث والذي يعقد برئاسة الدكتور سعد الكعبي، آخر المستجدات المرتبطة بفيروس كورونا، والتخطيط لجهود النظام الصحي المستمرة لمكافحته.
